I don't know about the profile differences, and try not to get that far into analysing it all.
As far as I'm concerned if they work as expected and don't let you down then that's all good.
Tyre technology tends to evolve quickly, so as soon as one is comfortable with one tyre, it becomes obsolete and replaced with something better anyway.
As a rule I don't trust rubber anyway. AT ALL.
I have Dunlop's on my Harley, and that's where I draw the line with them.
As I've had a very disappointing experience with them, and seen similar/same problems on other Harleys with the Dunlops.
Otherwise I have found they give great mileage and they're cheap enough. I just work around their limitations.
I run Pirelli's on the everything else(especially the DUCATI's), as I think they're the best all round tyres(for a whole lot of reasons) that I've ever come across.
There's only one exception though.
I think the tyres on the 1199 are a bit slippery in the wet. So now I try to avoid getting caught in the rain.
It just makes me more wary of them so I'm more cautious in the rain on the 1199. That's got to be a good thing anyway
