Finally laid it down on track :(

Welcome to the club! Laid down my '12 in similar fashion with minimal damage, broken shifter, scraped bar end and a slight scuff on the lower fairing. All that with the bike sliding 75 feet down the track.

There are the ones who crashed and the ones who will, think you just changed categories, lol.

Made it into that category several times and still able to talk about it. Life is good!!

Thanks for sharing, sorry to hear. What tires and DTC setting were you running? Was that a mate of yours you were following? Seems like you could have passed him many times and you were almost running up the back of him in that fateful corner.

Glad you're OK and the damage was minimal. Keep enjoying her!

I purchased the carbon clock bracket/stay from CarbonConquest here in the UK,cost around £480GBP. Just wanted to 'bling' the front end up as it weighs no less than the magnesium oem bracket!

Was running Pirelli Diablo slicks on DTC level 3 as level 4 was too intrusive. Still had the TC light flashing an awfull lot on level 3!

The DP carbon clutch cover didnt wear through and saved majority of the weight, the Rizoma fork guards saved the front end,and the Ducabike carbon lever guard stopped the front fairing from touching down!

After the crash,I checked bike over briefly on the grass, then jumped back on it and finished the session. Bikes back on track next week at Silverstone :)

The guy in front was an instructor, and was out on what started was a few sighting laps then he realised I was all over him. This is why I kept behind as it seemed rude to overtake

How odd. Even with Supercorsa SP road tyre in the winter mine on DTC 2 only kicks in infrequently.
Is the tyre pressure correct?
Are your suspension set up correctly?

The suspension has been set up from an ex-racer dialed in to my weight/fast riding style, and pressure is also bang on. Im quite hard on the throttle coming out of corners still leant over,so this may be why its flashing alot

I have been quite hard too. Not to the point of suicidal, but let's say that if I were on 1098 non-TC i am not likely to survive first session.

Amazing vid and thanks for posting. I have wondered what the best crash protection additions to the bike could be made on a low-side without making it look ridiculous.

So I am right in what you said the fork sliders, bar end and clutch cover were enough not to scratch any of the plastics?

Did you check your steering stops? I lowsided at the track earlier this year and thought I had the same minimal damage (broken gear lever, ground down bar end and ASV clutch lever). I had T-Rex sliders and front and rear axle sliders which saved the fairing. I didn't notice the steering stop was broken until a couple of weeks later when I realised when I turned the bars fully to the right and there was no stop. Looked at the bottom triple clamp and sure enough the steering stop had completely sheared off.

Hopefully it didn't happen to your bike, but worth a look to make sure.

They are a real weak spot on these bikes I have replaced two of them already .
The Robby Moto look like a better alternative .

How much did you pay for the lower triple if you don't mind me asking? The stops definitely are a weak spot on them, don't particularly want to replace the whole clamp just for one steering stop....

Yes thats correct, these three contact points saved any of the actual bike from touching the floor. It might be a different story if it was the left hand side due to the swing-arm raising the bike higher off the floor thus making the nose closer to ground. I have the DP carbon swing-arm cover that has a replacement Derlon slider so raises it even higher.

Just checked and the steering stop is ok with no damage :D
