Ok, well its gone too far like the late 90's 28" rimz on a 1970 Monte Carlo,
The wings have pulled away from the beauty of the Panegale body

It may look like to much wings

But I come from a Race CAR back ground, and a few years back, when cars had no wings,

There was a guy called dan gurney

He showed up with a car with funny looking wings

Everyone laughed at him, until he started to ride everyone’s ... with it

And after that every car now has wings

And if someone in f1 damages half a front wing and looses 1 second a lap, it is better to stop for 20 seconds to change it

So that is how important they are, and what a simple 1 second difference a lap means

So I get it, if they don’t look that good

But if they work, I am down with them

I'm a supplier to Formula 1. I am in the garages all the time and one of the products that I supply is for the bodywork and the aero. I am very familiar with the F1 aero and the role it plays. That said, I was all ready to buy this bike and now I am most likely not. That aero makes it hideous and for what? I will probably take it to the track, like I do with my other SL but most of my riding will be in canyons and mountains where the aero will be very little benefit. Why do I need to ride around on the street (remember, this is on an Hp4 type track only bit) with all these wings sticking out all over the place?

I wouldn't buy it to pose and be like, "the aero does this and the aero does that if I take it around Mugello." I want a bike that I love looking at and enjoy riding with the riding that I like to do. It's okay to have a bike that's beyond our limits but there should be a blend of form and function. It's like having a street car that do a 8 second quarter mile or whatever but you drive it on the street with a wheelie bar and parachute in the back. I don't really want that.

Sorry, I cannot edit this but it should say that "this is NOT an HP4 type of track only bike."

All I am saying is this: I am sure that the aero works but this is a street bike. Why couldn't they find a way to neatly integrate the aero into a couple of key places so it actually is nice as a street bike to be ridden mostly on fast roads and then at the track when those opportunities present themselves.

I hate to say it but this reminds me of a Honda Civic with wings and canards all over it. Yeah, the aero is useful at 200mph but for your average 40mph canyon sweeper, it's not going to do much and if this is sold as a street bike, then that should be taken into consideration.

Maybe I'm just too old for this stuff. Maybe I'll change my mind in time. But for now, this is how I feel and for now, Ducati just lost a sale.

Its not that bad... but where are the rear wings?
