The first bit makes me think tire warmers are super important. Are they at all necessary if you are on DOTs?

I love these style of videos. Please do more. I don't see anyone else doing that type of thing.

It is horrible, to have so much power

and not being able to put it down

Have the same problems on the local track, have to feather the throttle

What tires are you on?

engine respinwe on high or medium?

It’s probably just very cold there. Track is also very technical with drastic elevation changes.

You’re not going to be able to pin the throttle at Brands in a lot of places.

Great video, particularly pairing the calm and honest commentary against the dynamic environment of the race.

It is interesting seeing how the V4R with such big quoted Hp numbers stacks up against litre bikes from other manufacturers. The video really highlights how getting the power to the ground is key and sure you will find some more speed in some of those sections with some setup tweaks.

The start was pretty good, would be good to know how many launches and track miles you are getting out of a set of clutch plates.

Sub-50 second lap is nice work! That tells me its a very small circuit, so the V4R / comparable liter bike is way too big for brands hatch?!

Hi mate, it is a small circuit, approx one mile. I wouldn't say litre bikes are too big, but the start finish is bumpy. And those bumps def show up my setup isn't right....yet!

Absolutely, tyre warmers make a massive. Once you've used them, you won't go back!
I would try and avoid road tyres (DOT?), as whilst they are good for the first lap or two, they soon overheat and become 'vague' .

I'm on a Pirelli SC1 front slick, and Bridgestone R11 rear (usually V02 soft though)

I have engine response in high. Ideally I can get the setup to work with the engine...

Thanks Herod!

Absolutely, power is nothing if you can't put ot down!

I've just fitted a new set of plates. The first set lasted 2900 miles, from new. This included 700 run in miles on the road, and plenty of electronics issues which meant the bike wasn't properly abused! I intend to fit a different weight clutch spring, see how that effects it. No race launches on the last set of plates, but I believe it's downshifts into corners, when the clutch is being slipped, that the wear really occurs.

1 mile!!! The beast is way too big and gnarly and brutal for a tight circuit like that. In the new country, we would call that a "motard track" !!

Come on Rick, you need a Kramer. There's not enough online content created for Kramers, we need you to fix that. Get on the list for a GP2!!!

Maybe for my birthday

Tbf, next on my list is an Ohvale 160cc...

Great video and commentary. Your setup may have been off a little but you made up for it with consistancy. When will your 22 be ready and will that be the new race bike?

Just got around to watching that. Great ride Rick, truly inspirational!

It’s very clear that setup held you back. Even though you showed an advantage in corner entry it was the exits that suffered and that’s where most time is made.

Two thumbs up!

dont waste your money on the ovhale

it feels like you are riding a clown bike at the circus

at least try it before buying, 2 friends bought 2 of them

rode them twice, and up for sale

Thanks!

I've had a couple of days on them on go kart tracks, thought they were epic! Probably no good anywhere else though.
