Footpegs-CNC vs Rizoma

Am I allowed to say don't waste your money, buy rearsets?

You are for sure.
Was thinking interim while I attempt to convince my wife that the DP would make a most acceptable Christmas present (long term planning). I realize there are a number of less expensive but high quality options readily available.

This is my 4th Ducati and the R has by far the worst pegs I've experienced to date.

The best argument is the stock pegs are unsafe, and the DP are a waste of money. So push the DP and buy lightechs etc for a compromise, but not.

DP being a waste of money is a matter of opinion and depends on how much you really paid for them. Agree to disagree.;)

Don't forget to check out the Gilles:

Thanks dude! The pegs looked like so much of an improvement I went to shift-tech and priced their full rearsets. Can't NOT do that now...sweet!

Also: I read a few reviews here and there (sorry no sources ATM) that mentioned Sidi boots gripped the smoother OEM pegs better. Might be an opportunity/excuse to buy new boots too? I already have Sidis and don't slip off the pegs, but know for sure there is vastly more grip out there...

what type of pegs/rearsets is every bit as controversial as oil threads on EVERY motorcycle forum. Think the one thing everyone can agree on is the stock pani pegs suck!

No consensus for sure. Oil, engine break in and now rear sets/pegs.

Unless I missed it (entirely possible) just about every review I've come across neglects to mention the lousy pegs. AH in his excellent COTA 1199R assessment, earlier this year, under his good/bad wrap up, mentioned how the pegs were not great. How the journalists could fail to mention this is disappointing as we're talking more than cosmetics here. A definite safety related issue in my view, regardless of whether you're on track or street.

After some research I ordered the Ducati Design LLC silver lightweight race pegs yesterday, which should help. Will give this a go and then decide if full rearsets are in order. Price is $95.00 (US) plus shipping. Cheapest mod to date...

Rizoma rearset result of a low side.

I know this thread is about pegs but since it's related...

This happened yesterday while on a ride. My buddy was hit by a car that made a left turn while he was passing on the left of the car. Both driver and rider made a mistake in this case.

He was hit and toppled over the car and the bike slid on her left side for a good 20ft or so...

This is the ridding buddy that bought my old S and I had pretty much all upgrades. The peg was torn off. And the gear lever mangled. I was able to straighten a bit so he could ride home. The heel guard served as foot rest while riding home.

Should have taken a better closeup picture but we were more concerned with police reports and stuff.

Not sure about the CNC but I had the Rizoma Pro-B pegs and they worked great to eliminate the slippery stock ones.

I bought the B-Pro pegs as well. I have to replace my bracket and shifter lever due to my crash (just now realizing the peg pin is bent) and my dealer cannot get it back out, so the whole bracket needs to be replaced. But I already have the pegs and adapters. Wondering if I should keep the pegs, replace the bracket and shifter, or just go with the whole rearsets. The whole Rizoma sets are black and are $500 tax free and shipped. OEM parts are putting me at about $220 to replace. Decisions decisions... I really like the look of the silver though and I have already done a lot of other Rizoma stuff to the bike. so... pegs? or rearsets? I looked at both the CNC and Rizoma and the CNC seems to only have one adjustment to the footpeg whereas the Rizoma has two or three positions for the peg, the whole bracket can be adjusted up or down and the shift and brake pedal can be moved forward or back.

I wanted the Rizoma rearsets but my dealer didn't have it at that time so I went with the DP rearsets which have the ends of the shifter and rear brake pedal pegs foldable too which is good.. price is steep but for me, I'd rather have better stuff that wont break.. I agree with everyone that using the stock pegs is pointless and are slippery as hell..

At my dealership there was one new R that was already being prepped up by the mechanics and surprisingly, the only changes they did was put the fender eliminator and integrated tail lights and remove his mirrors and have the block off pieces on. Strange choices on accessories by the owner who is upgrading from an S
