At best I am an average rider who just Loves to ride with his mates. For me the coffee and chat during a ride has been just as enjoyable as the ride itself. Never raced and 95% of my riding has been on the street. I have owned an 848 for the past few years and loved it. It has served me well.

The roads around here are great for riding. Within 15km you are in to some windy stuff. Currently the middle of winter so the temperatures in the morning are around 0 deg Celsius and the roads are wet. I hate wet roads. Always felt a little uncomfortable on the 848 in the wet.

Picked up my bike 2 days ago and have done 500 km this weekend. This bike in unbelievable. I loved the wet roads. Stuck it in wet mode and just powered through the corners and let the traction control do the work.

There is no comparasion to my 848. The bike wants to power through corners, it is way easier to ride, less heat, more comfortable and way more enjoyable.

For all those dooms dayers out there. There was no smoke, no oil usage, no swing arm fall off. No heat issues, No false neutrals, no stalling and no fires.

The only issue I have is with the winter gloves I keep hitting the high beam button. Not happening as much now.

Can not keep the smile off my face. I love this bike and very happy with my purchase. :D

Great to hear mate, I would love to come down your way for a ride one day. I hear the roads down there are awesome. I should be getting my bike this week so looking forward to a nice ride next weekend.

The roads are great. A little more maintenance wouldn't go astray though. Coming to tassie would defenatly be worth the trip. Middle of summer the better option.

You will love the bike mate. That I promise.

Sounds like me!!! Also 848, also no problems and loving the bike!! Small exception "what are "winter gloves"?? It's boiling hot here ;-)

Good to hear you're having a blast! Congrats on the bike!

I feel you on this one. I got rid of my 848 for the 1199 as well. I had been riding 1000cc bikes for over 10 years( tl1000r, r1, 1000rr) before I bought my first Duck, the 848. It was a great bike Just needed a bit more power for me. Plus the Duck made me feel Ilke I was learning to ride alll over again, completely different than an inline -4. I am so looking forward to the Panigale!

I too traded the 848 evo in February, I am missing her now. I need a fix soon....

Congrats! I had an 848 a few years back and totally loved it. Thought it was even better than my SF and the best bike I had ever had, until the panigale came along and changed the rules. Welcome to your new addiction.

Think I saw a 1199 on way back from Ulverstone on sunday. r u the bloke that couldnt keep up with the diavel??? ya pussy!!!
