OK, here are some hard numbers based on extremely accurate scientifc instruments and measurement devices.
In short, I am getting 103 smiles per gallon. The smile-age is directly proportional to the degree of throttle opening. The more throttle, the more smiles.
I also have noticed that sometimes I get increased smile-age if there are females in the vicinity, especially at red lights. I have not adjusted the above number to compensate for these bonus smiles.
In conclusion, I expect smile-age to decrease over time to 1 big smile per ride.
I consider this the one true indicator of a bike's overall performance.
