Fuel consumption

I'd get an average of 140 on my s1000rr when the light came on. Ducati isn't known for fuel economy but they're fun as hell between each refill

I'm a little disappointed, very expensive, many flaws, very hot, spends a lot of gas, very expensive maintenance ... I hope not to bother anyone with my comments

Like I've said before... It's like dating an Italian Supermodel Beautiful. Hot, Very Sexy, Expensive and very finicky.( It likes to be ridden hard and fast) . But in the end after all, your with a beautiful SUPERMODEL! :D

Your friends Japanese bikes just don't compare. Most of them would have one too if they could swing it..

You just have to accept the eccentricities and putting up with it's moods or you need to change rides.. They ALL run hot.. None are great on fuel mileage and they all are rather expensive to keep up.. Ride it and be happy or get another ride..

I've noticed this to be the worst bike I've owned for fuel consumption. I'm getting about 55-60 miles on a full tank before the light comes on (road use only) but thrashing about on it. I don't commute anywhere so don't have anything to compare it to as it's a toy not a work horse. I could probably get closer to 100 miles if I was being careful but who cares when you've got a 1299 Italian stallion? As already mentioned, I didn't buy it for the best MPG :D

Well said good sir! I don't ..... and complain about it, I accept it, I rode pretty far yesterday with my buddy on his R1 and he was blown away needed gas after 80mi. I was trying to explain the difference in engine and all that and it was just not getting through to him. So as we got back on the road I made sure to show him the difference in power Hahahah! Made a good chat at the next refill hahaha, sure I need to gas up more but when I'm not sitting at a pump I'm out leading the pack like a boss [emoji41] I'll be dating this sexy Italian supermodel for a long long time hahaha

I think the light must come on pretty early. I've had my light go on only to have the bike take less than 3 gallons. This bike has a published 4.5g capacity, so even at 35-ish mpg (my typical w/ a mix of twisties & highway) people should be getting at least 120 mi on a tank. Frankly after that kinda distance on a superbike, I wanna get off and take a break.

I wonder if the fuel light is a bit dodgey on mine? Comes on sometimes, then goes off. The fuel trip starts, gets to 0.1, then goes off. Comes back on again and off. Seen it happen a few times before coming on and staying on.

Anyone else get that?

This happens on all the panigales, my 899 does this also. Ignore it until it stays on and doesnt disappear.

I sometimes think my low fuel light is going to come on as I leave the fuel station................

But the good this is if it does run out I can just sit and look at it :)

My 13' R will get 85-90 miles or so on spirited street rides before the light comes on..

My other street bike is the H2 which is derestricted (Guhl's flash and Brocks Maps via PCV).. If I keep the rev's anywhere near how I ride the R on the street, the light comes on at 60 miles... It will get around 90 miles if I ride in 5th/6th under 65000 rpms with random pulls..

My Pani: 22-30 mpg @ 178 RWHP

My grom: 65-75 mpg @ 7 RWHP

WINNER: 1199

My previous Pani S got 168 miles per fill in rain mode 120 on freeway, the computer says 42.7mpg when I got that.

82mile and my light comes on like clock work on the street. My friends S1000RR got 160 mile to a tank last ride out! tourer boy we call him now;)

I have noticed that on my 1299S, the fuel light has a kind of "phantom" mode that makes the fuel light come on for about a mile or two, really early, like at 80-90 miles, but then it goes off... and then comes on again... and goes off and finally comes on and STAYS on; THAT is when you need to really start looking for a gas station - I have around 25 miles until I'm empty. Ask me how I know this..

Yes. My MPG is around 15 on hard trackdays. I have seen it go about 40 on easy street miles but I ride it very little on the street.

I use a website called 'fuelly.com' to log my fuel consumption. It is just a great tool for record purposes, but it also allows you to search and look at anyone's consumption using the website.
I am still running in but ran out of petrol today on my ride out on 249km....had to call a taxi.... Any case, the manual says there is 5l left when the light comes on and then trip fuel starts. Trip fuel was only on 45km but it seems to reset sometimes. I am going to keep track now of exactly the when light comes on and not trip fuel.
Will post results on fuelly. 3 fuel ups thus far is there, only a couple 1299's but there are 1199's on the site. I am averaging 15km/l while running in. My street triple averaged 14km/l and my tl1000s used to do 16km/l on the work run. Will like to see how the Pani compares.

Interestingly enough I found this years R has a better fuel economy than the previous, when behaving! I got maybe 120 miles out of a tank before the light came on. A bit of motorway and a bit of hooning about, really surprised me, I expected a lot less.

I do have a suspicion though that it will fall behind when thrashed for that top end bhp

160km here and its still breaking in. 800km. It was pretty crappy when it was brand new (what do you expect). I suspect 180 to 200km once fully broken in (4 to 6000km) and gotten a fresh oil change.

Better than my rsv4 thats for sure! Worst mpg of all bikes ever and I use to baby that ....... also. But then again I dont buy bikes for mpg. My prius is for that lol.

Superbike riders should not own a prius....especially an Italian bike. You are breaking the enthusiast code. Please sell your bike asap!
