Fuel consumption

Superbike riders should not own a prius....especially an Italian bike. You are breaking the enthusiast code. Please sell your bike asap!

Just cuz I own a prius doesnt mean I cant also own a ferrari. A prius doesnt block having nice things on the side. I live in Ontario, most of the americans wont even be able to afford insurance on a 1299s let alone a sports car and a superbike. Insurance alone on my end was quoted over $4000 perfect record, never made a claim or accident, riding for over 10 years. Luckily I have alot of policies with the company to just get a small break. Do I want a high performance car..yes. Is it logical in my case with a family and a desire for long distance touring in a car? No.

Dont get me wrong, I would love a sports car, but I wouldnt afford two things at once. Nothing wrong with a prius hater. :p

120km.........80 miles or something and my light is on!!!!!

who cares just stick some more in it!

So, the R gets the extra ponies through tuning and higher revs, the 1299 through eating up more fuel to get bigger bangs from those mahoosive pistons

I've noticed this to be the worst bike I've owned for fuel consumption. I'm getting about 55-60 miles on a full tank before the light comes on (road use only) but thrashing about on it. I don't commute anywhere so don't have anything to compare it to as it's a toy not a work horse. I could probably get closer to 100 miles if I was being careful but who cares when you've got a 1299 Italian stallion? As already mentioned, I didn't buy it for the best MPG :D

Yep, I get 55-60miles and the fuel light is on.

my throttle position when not on the brakes is: WOT ;)

How long do you guys leave your bike running when you first start it up? To what temp do you get in and ride off at, becaus that's eating gas as well. I wait till about 130' degrees F.

You do not need to warm her up. Once she is running you can go. Just keep to the indicated red line (which will be much lower when she is cold).

Lol what are you riding? If you ride WOT on a 1199/1299 all the time on public roads you will be dead within a block of your first pull off.

That just can't be right. That means you are getting around 18 - 20 mpg (US). My light comes on really early, in a kind of "phantom" way. It flicks on for a couple of miles when I have used about 3 gallons, but it turns off, then turns back on for real. When it comes back on for real, I have about 30 miles of range left.

On my commute, I get around 130 miles out of a tank; at that time, I have around 1/2 a gallon or less left. My commute is part Freeway, part city. If I just go out and cruise around with some of my buddies who ride Adventure Bikes, or Triumph Bonnevilles, I can get up to 160 miles out of a tank. At the track, I get about 80 miles out of a tank and that's caning the living CRAP out of it in the race group.

Maybe you aren't filling the tank up properly. When I gas up after my commute, I get around 4.2 US gallons into her, full to the brim.

If you want to get much better mileage and run cooler I would be glad to trade my Ninja 300 for your pani (it's gonna cost me nearly 20k out the door to trade for a 1299 base, I can't wait!!)

I brim the bike only using super unleaded 98/99 octane fuel were possible, definitely filled to the brim! (I used to get 55-65 out of my old 1198).
I know what you about light flickering off and on, this is when the light is ON.
Have got about 15-20 miles out of it after the light is on, it actually ran out a few hundred yards from the fuel station once with just over 15 miles on the reserve clock.
Dont want to say to much on a public forum, happy to PM. The bike is epic and I just love caning it! I have raced at National level in the uk (was a while back!) Have a look at my video in the thread I uploaded riding Cadwell Park. ;)

2016 Panigale R Fuel Consumption

I agree with Recoil and chillo regarding fuel consumption. I'm riding in SPORT mode and commute to work 18 miles total and at approximately 70 miles the fuel light is on. I tried to "experiment" and see how far I could go on the fuel light on and found out the hard way that after 25 miles and I'm walking! Yes I believe I'm getting around 20-22 MPG.

Bike: 2016 Panigale R with no modifications.

When I was jamming cross-country last year, if I kept it in 6th and cruised around 80ish mph I could get 110-118 miles before the light came on.

my 2015 R i'm only getting 50 miles out of a tank, i was surprised just how much gas it was going through.
