Fuel light on SFV4S

Hey guys,

Ive had my SFV4S for a week now and out fuel in it a few times. The first time the fuel light came on I was right by the gas station and it only took 2.1 gallons. Is that expected? If it has a 4.2 gallon tank I would think it would come on with a gallon or so left as with other bikes I’ve owned. What are your guys experiences?

The fuel light comes on very early in these bikes.

As bp said. It comes on very early. I’ve had mine for about seven months and the most gas I’ve put in it is 3.2 gallons. That was after putting 25 miles on it after the light came on. I just can’t find it in me to run it any further even though I could probably go another 30 miles or so.

thanks for the link. Helpful video. 30 sounds realistic as I saw a lot of idling after the light came on. Wish he would have verified how much gas he put in after he ran out though. I’m not convinced the tank is really 4.2 gallons. I’d guess closer to 3.5-3.8.

I usually assume 20mi left to keep it safe since I ride high rpm and in race mode with everything off. You can probably squeeze more mileage by going in sport mode and keeping your acceleration slow.
