A FB friend of mine came to SPA yesterday carrying his full AKRA system.

He was taken off the track for NOISE very soon, got measured and blackflagged.

No other Panis with all sorts of exhaust combo's had noise trouble...

it s the first Pani i know off that had noise trouble while riding.

Did he have the "killers" in?

I'm so buying a full Akra system now!

It's funny. My stock bike allready has heads turned from a quarter mile away. Usually kids are waving at me before I can even hardly see them. Lovin' this Ducati stuff (I'z a newb). Even had a cop pull up behind me and complement the sound. Not whut I had expected him to do. (Or maybe it was a "we can see you, keep it together and safe" gesture?)

Termi's are too quiet. Same as stock. I just want deeper, louder, non-cat sound. I could care less about more power and lighter weight. I'd just core my stockers if they'd fit under the racing undertray.

could be the AKRA is more metal at revs? can't see deeper sound getting you in trouble... pipe length is about same also , no?

We raced against an Akro equipped 1199 at Daytona and I didn't really notice it being loud or louder than our Termi equipped bikes.

That is total BS!
Never ridden in an organization that monitors and limits noise levels (unless you go out without ANY pipe on at all) but the tracks in Mid Atlantic must not give a ..... WTF do ya do then if booted off rack and you don't have a spare set of Termi with ya?

yep... and the eventmanagers are really no noise - nazis...
Do you know with how many dB they measured? And what was the max dB allowed? I am going to the DCR in 2 weeks, as you know. There you have them too, living around the circuit.

SPA was 100 static... normally the bike never has problems on the fly...
measured 107 static with db killers... PRO and SBK termi are 16 to 30 cm longer.. so should be quiter on same cans... ?

Same as UK, never any problems on the ride by meter, it's always the static that's the problem.

Did Spa last year (Termis) with DB killers in, once they saw the baffles they didn't even test it, just slapped the sticker on and away I went. Maybe the Akra DB killer isn't up to it?

Laguna Seca and Callaboggie are two track that I have been to that monitor noise.

Laguna is really bad, I did a track day there some years ago on my Buell, I had to not down shift driving out of 6 heading up the backside to the corkscrew to keep from getting thrown out.

The sound check at Bogie is a joke! It's a municipal employee who want's nothing more than to get it over with. Never gave him more than half the revs he asked for and never got an argument.

I ran with my full akra at jennings along with two other R's one with the pro pipe set up and i can't say it was any louder than those bikes, the sound has more base to it but to me it certainly didn't seem louder.

When I rode with a mate a few weeks ago and his Acra - he was def louder than me by far -in fact I could hardly hear my bike when next to him. Dont know if he has baffles in though

You were lucky... Last time for me the crazy woman was making me rev it to redline. She didn't believe that my bike didn't rev as high as the Japanese bike:rolleyes:
