Gear indicator problems

Help Support Ducati Forum:

just had mine fixed by master tech in Bev. Hills. Pro Italia did not have the part but Beverly Hills did and picked up where Pro Italia left off (like a good neighbor) They replaced gear sensor (thank goodness they had the part in stock) and calibrated some things regarding the wheel sensors. Riding back 30 miles in the heat yielded no malfunctions or change in engine running like it did this morning driving it there. Now I get that desmo thumping sound even after a long hot ride and gear reads perfect. Before, rough running would ensue when vehicle got hot (216F and up) and gear would read erratic at times. Its getting more frequent and worse on drivability. So weird but the gear sensor fixed it!!! So happy! Thanks Bev. Hills Ducati, a great group of guys there as well, they took the opportunity to help when they could. High marks to Beverly Hills (Rick) and Pro Italia (Eric). I couldn't ask for a better week off. Now my Pani is ready for the next 7K miles

Hello community from Ukraine!

I don't make a new topic about my gear sensor error. But I have some problem with it:

How turn to learning mode the gearshift sensor? Earlier, my sensor don't show me correctly information about gear. I reset the sensor via TEXA, then sensor go to "C" mode. How to fix it or turn gear sensor in teaching mode?

I just picked up my 2013 base ABS and i also am dealing with the gear problem when it heats up. I emailed local dealer and ducati to see if there is anything they will cover for me. If not, i will probably just get it done on the next service interval.

Dealer got back to me. For $50 they will recalibrate my gear sensor and also update the ECU for an revisions that might be missing. Seems well worth it to me.

Not concerned really. I have no warranty and they are doing the gear calibration. I think their shop labor rate is pretty expensive so they are chaging me .5-.75 of a hour.
