Well, a good solution would be for anyone interested to take their 1199 to a pro paint shop and use a tool like that: Professional Color Analyzer
In order to "read" the real magnesium color of the metallic parts on the bike.
Very Late Reply, But No the standard 1199 wheels are cast aluminum. I believe the S/R/Tri have Forged Marchesini Aluminum. Optional would have been the Mags - Superleggera I think had Mags stock.Very good point, I will heed your words.. I'm still very interested in doing this but I'll make sure my homework is done and I can almost guarantee the color before going ahead w the commitment. The 1199 STD wheels are forged aluminum correct?
Those are M10rs Kompe? They look gorgeous. Did you order that way? Or Have them painted? Here are my spare monster wheels in gold:
the shop had 100 different golds to choose from
I just picked up an 1199s tri w/ about 250 miles on it, but it came to me unfortunatelyNo, just enkei... needed quick spares for a swap and didn’t dig the black
$265 later they were gold
Im looking to powder coat my 1299's wheels a gold color too. But some of gold colors ive seen are to yellowish. Too bright or have metallic flake in them. And I dont want to settle. Then I saw these wheels and feel in love with the color. I searched for magnesium gold power coat but found nothing really. So I went to Prismatics website and began looking at their gold colors again. Not sure how I missed their Yankee gold. I think Prismatics Yankee gold my be the closest gold to these wheels in the pics. Here is the link. Ill add a few more links to other nice gold colors prismatic hasWhat about the Superleggera Magnesium Gold wheel colour ??
It seems that no other wheel has this kind of gold. Or none that i 've seen so far.
Please notice how the magnesium parts of the bike have the exact same colour as the wheels!
Does anyone know the color code?
Im most likely going with the Yankee Gold. The bike is still on the lift and Im having some issues with the shifting being way too stiff after installing the CNC Racing EVO GP rear sets. Im not sure if the factory pro shift kit is causing the problem. Or if I installed gear control lever to far to the left where the front of the shift rod connects to or the rear bracket where the back of the shift rod connects to is angled to much to the right. I have no clue why this is happening. So I may as well remove the wheels and get them powder coated. If I remove them between tomorrow and Friday the dude I use will have them done between 2 and 3 days.U just like the name of it “Yankee Gold”
both look great on my screen
You're damn right I like the name Yankee Gold. I certainly wouldn't have chosen this color it was called Met's Gold LOLOL. I'm hoping this is the Yankees year. Last time they won the World Series was in 2009 against the Philies. It's an 11 year drought. Maybe superstition will prevail. Once you finish construction it will be time to start modifying your bike with yours trulyLooks damn close. I’ve been finishing construction on my house and one of the final touches is paint, naturally. It’s been really tough to nail down some of the colours. Some of the walls have changed colour a couple times already

Thats actually a nice looking gold color. Do you happen to know the company name and color # used to powder coat those wheels? I would put that color into the color choices I would choose fromHere are my spare monster wheels in gold:

I could be wrong. But yes you can order the wheel color on the ducati special but I doubt that Ducati would give you the color code. You would have to look for the closes matching color like I did. Although I could be wrong and Ducati would give the color code. Doesnt hurt to ask.Maybe a naive question..... I was told you could order wheels painted to the same paint code as those found on the Ducati’s special
Bikes. If that’s the case is this paint code proprietary? Or could it be shared and then duplicated, however using a different paint method, scheme or however each ends up doing it.
Did you get Marchesini wheels? Can you post a pic of the wheels whether they are on the bike or not. If they are what im thinking, I was actually debating that color too as well as Phl's wheel colorNever hurts to ask! I just received a pair of what I would consider the “Ohlins Gold “ which is the Marchesini gold, but I like the color..... I did really want that more bronze wheel, just didn’t realize it’s exclusivity and price tag... either way I am happy.
I hope you guys get the right color! If so I’d also like to know for reference !
