After I had a silly lowside on the 18 V4S(totaled), I drank some Aprilia Kool aid and bought a dealer demo 2017 RSV4RF at a crazy price. The bike looked really nice with the Italian livery. The motor is buttery smooth and it sounds great with the exhaust. I installed my favorite tires and took it for a run... uh oh... I feel like I'm riding something from 1998 with a huge gas tank. Also being close to 6 2, I feel weird ergonomically with my knees cramping. Great news, I got the bike with dope Attack Performance rear sets, so I change the holes. I take it for another run couple days later, still feels awkward. Well maybe it was confidence related, so I went to Supermoto, riding the piss out of my FS450. Next day try the Aprilia... ok we are just not gellin with this one.
I waited for that freezing rainy day to go to a Ducati dealership, which happened to be today. Traded in the #Imsureitwillbesomebodysfavoritebike Aprilia for a 2019 V4S. God, I can breathe again :)

Funny, I had a Tuono Factory 1100. Great street bike, not the best track bike (for me). Francesca (my V4S) and I get along allot better then the old Aprilia especially on the track. She is very lonely in the garage. I'm trying to find a well priced 2018 Hypermotard so she has someone to talk to.

Thanks for posting. I haven't ridden an Aprilia, but I've been tempted to try one. You're taller than I am, but I have long legs, so I appreciate your experience. You're local too, so another V4S in the neighborhood.

When I was looking to buy my V4S. The Aprilia RSV4 RF was also high on the list, but I just couldn't get past the aged styling and those dated front head lights. Their V4 engine sounds amazing though and all reviewers rave on about how good the chasis and handling is. The Ducati V4 is a much more better all round bike (besides the price comparison haha).
When they finally do an update on the RSV4, I can only imagine it'll be an amazing bike!

Great choice to get another V4S though!

interesting, I've never heard of someone switching from RSV4 to Ducati V4. Makes me feel vindicated that I rebought the V4.

I know someone who switched as well, granted not an RF model but RSV4 none the less.

I am 6'2 and had a 2010 & 2014 RSV4 & 2015 TV4. I thought they all had a good amount of leg room considering the type of bike. As the OP mentioned it is nice to be back on a Ducati. I didn't like the feel of V2 Panigale, but the V4 feels good.

You shut your satanic speaking mouth if you knew what was good for you SIR!!!:):):) Kidding :D:D

Yes sir LOL - It is just something about the foot pegs on the V2's that feels off to me. It may be that size 12 feet don't fit well. I sure like the looks & my local dealer has FE #372 (I think) used on the floor with full Ti exhaust.

I sat on the Aprilia RSV4 and at 6'2'' with a 34" inseam - it was a tight fit like Mazda Miata tight!

Yes, I never noticed how small the pegs were either till I used woodcraft rear sets, then tracked my FE, I thought my foot didn't have enough to grab onto

I had a 17 Panigale R before my first V4S and I loved that bike, very comfy, super light feeling and gobs of torque. I hated when 2 of my best riding buddies got V4S and they could get out of corners way faster. I had to reel them in braking, but I had no chance in passing them anywhere against the v4 power and the sophisticated traction control.
