Stuck on a new bike choice

Figured that you were one and the same from the ape forum. I slept on it and honestly with the rumors I've caught that aprilia will be likely releasing its new bike or word of this year. I didn't want to take the hit from the new model. I truly love the ape but the ducati kept pulling me and won.

Both are great bikes. I've had multiple RSV4 Factory's and I have a V4 Speciale now.

On the track the RSV4 is perfect once the suspension is dialed in. The Speciale is yet to see the track. However on the street it's more inspiring out of the box than my previous Panigale's.

Unless your name is Marquez or Rossi I think it's personal preference. I love them both.

The V4S heat is severe when riding around my local area in shorts. When I'm riding in pants it's not such a problem. But I don't put pants on unless (1) I'm riding speeds that would shred my legs more than I'd like, or (2) weather conditions are good for pants.

If I'm just going on a short run around the hood, great rural roads with 20-45 mph blind twists (so I'm not attacking the corners or lean angles), it's usually in shorts and my leather upper. I typically ride for only a half hour to an hour and the risk isn't there for me to change into pants.

I'm almost speechless ........

I didn't expect this on a superbike forum, working in an operating theatre we see a lot of horrific injuries and I can tell you truthfully a slow speed crash without proper protection can be a life changing event. I had a slow one at the track a couple of weeks ago and my wife said my leathers looked like a tiger attack.

I'm not the fun police but top up your insurance cover.

"I don't ride at speeds that would shred my legs more than I would like"

a better comment from the gentleman from Oregon:

Some of the strangest comments I have ever read on a forum. But there was this guy from McLaren a few years ago on here as well.

An interesting corollary:

"Hey chief I am not gonna wear my body armor today or carry my M4 as we are just driving down to a cafe in Mosul to meet a guy to exchange some info."

There used to be this friend of a friend who would do 100mph+ superman wheelies on his r1 on the fwy maybe a decade ago in a tank, shorts and flip flops. He definitely had a few screws loose but surprisingly, nothin had happened to him. Then again, he was just a friend of a friend so i didn't keep in touch with him.

I went down on a 20mph turn where i tucked the front n shredded my jeans n tore my knees up many years ago. Had my gloves on and leather jacket so my hands and upper body were fine but I'd never ride in shorts.
