Here I thought you were going to say that some A-hole in a Porsche had blocked you in. Congrats :D

Initial ride report

Thanks for all the cheers! :)

I apologize if the title misinterpreted the joyous moment when the R was discovered in my parking space. No foul play or somebody mistakenly parking in my space. Just pure joy to see her there.

As far as the initial riding report goes...

I put 250km over 2 days of riding. Mostly on the first day.

I found the clutch to be "sticky". Very sensitive and felt like there wasn't enough free play. I stalled about 3 times while slowly accelerating from stand still. I don't remember my S being like that when new... maybe it was so long ago that I forgot.

The acceleration from 0 to "what ever" felt very quick. Quicker than the S for sure... but not by much. Acceleration while in highway speed was NOT noticeably faster. I'm sure it is... but seat-of-the-pants feel tells me it's about the same. Then again, I didn't go too far past 8k rpm. I'll do that after the 300km checkup. The annoying orange rpm indicator comes on past 6k rpm nagging me to go easy. I told it to go take a hike about half the time and pulled to 8~9k. Hard to restrain when the motor revs so smoothly(at one moment I peeked and saw 210kph or so). That's where I found the key difference with the two bikes.

The motor revs much smoother than the standard motor. The revs are effortless. It's the same kind of feeling you get when your car gets a quality oil change and the gasoline that you filled up is perfect. The car just goes "smoother"... That's about the only way I can explain the difference.

I'll post more info after the 300km checkup. The dealer will re-torque and check the fluids, etc.

Mods so far...

Took out the tail and made an aluminum bracket for the license plate and mounted on the passenger rearset mounting bolts. This is basically the same thing I did to my old S. I know it's not legal in many parts of the world... neither is here btw., but the cops aren't very strict about it here.

DP race seat (for those that are curious about how the DP race seats look on the R)

I'm going to the States next week and will be picking up some new accessories. I'll post more pictures after they are installed.

So the new classes of Panigale's are:

BH - before hole
BS - before shield
Current (no acronym)

We will have mention these acronyms when selling our bikes years from now.

I don't have the exact measurement but it's about 1.5" taller. But it gives... so it's much "cushier" than stock. Hence more comfortable.
