Got My S (w/ ABS) Today

Picked-up my bike today at Ducati Newport Beach...those guys are awesome!

Rode 200 miles today through the mountains from Newport Beach to Palm Springs. Will ride 400 miles tomorrow and then get the initial service done on Saturday. Initial impression is that the bike is awesome...but gets very hot in the seat! Also, as previously discussed on the forum, if you plan on riding on the street...make sure you set the rear suspension to Progressive...Flat is way too hard for the street! I'll be having the dealer change mine on Saturday.

P.S. doesn't seem like I burned any oil during the first 200 miles.

Yeah. That the first thing i noticed too. It is so freaking hot!
 
Hows the heat vs older Ducati's? 999 or 1098?
I do a bit of city riding so im a bit worried about that.

This is my first Duc...so I can't give you a comparison...but I can tell you that it is extremely hot. I can't imagine doing much city riding.
 
I've ridden mine arround town for a month or so now. It gets hot, but it's not that bad. Might be an issue if you get stuck in a traffic jam when it's 30C+, otherwise it should be ok. Wearing leathers rather than jeans helps.
 
Was only able to get in 340 miles yesterday...need to put on 80 more before my 1pm appointment today to get my initial service done.

340 was the mileage I did on Friday...I did 200 the day before (see beginning of post)...got the initial service done on Saturday at 625 miles. BTW...it's been mentioned before...but the service light does not come on until 622 miles...which is the equivalent of 1000km.

I miss the mountains so much. Could you walk after 340 miles? I picked up a comfort seat yesterday, but haven't thrown it on yet.

No I couldn't...I put the comfort seat on the next day. I did 250 miles today with the comfort seat and IMO it's a must...much more comfortable...much better looking...and much better grip. Definitely worth the couple hundred bucks!

Understand the comfort seat works as advertised, I'm interested..... Does it change your riding position on the bike?
