Has anyone changed over to GP shift on their Speciale? I am having a hard time getting the bolt that holds the lever from flipping off. I have tried heat to losen the thread lock. We even tried using a little impact tool but it doesn't want to move.

I just converted my V4S to GP shift. I run Speciale "Rizoma" rear sets. No issues as you mention, but yeah thread lock is on everything. I actually lost one of the carbon heel guards because I did not use locktight on that..

In a few threads below someone posted the manual. It wasn't hard with the manual. I particularly liked the adjustments in the manual depending which holes you use.

I did see the manual just wondering sense they came on the bike if Ducati went overboard with the lock tight. I have had some bolts that were hard to get turning but man this is crazy.

Ducati are in a no win position - damned if they don't use loctite, the nuts and bolts fall off and everyone complains that their bikes fall apart or damned if they use it and nobody can get anything undone.

I'd rather have a bike that didn't fall apart..

At least they still don't appear to have the issue of getting a 'Friday afternoon' bike.. anyone remember those ?

Not complaining at all as like you I would rather it not fall apart. I was mostly just curious what others might have found in regards to the change.

I am really enjoying this bike as I have not had a Ducati in a while. So far 280 miles mostly twisties no issues no regrets.

If you are taking about the largest bolt that hold the gear shift lever and on which it pivots, then yes I had no issue with it. They may have overdid with the thread lock I suppose in your case. I bought a kit and did the install, so on mine it was not tight to begin with, but the torque they call out is not huge, so must be the thread lock. Good luck with it!
