Saw this on the org, and was not sure if it was posted here yet.
This incident happened in the exact area I was born and raised in CT. I know the same stretch of road where both bike and car drivers are known to push it due to a wide open area where CSP Troopers seldom wait. This idiot not only was racing with 4 other bikes in and out of traffic, but took a female passenger with him on this death race. The attorney makes the statement of it being "fatal" several times, so I assume the driver died when he drove right into the back of the 18 wheeler at 113 mph. Frigging douchebag!

I never saw the passengers reflection in the dash. I only saw one helmet? Wouldn't a passenger be sitting up higher and visible in the reflection? In either case, it is unfortunate that we have idiots like these giving us all a bad name. Please take it to the track if you want exhiliration. Please!!

Rider was a true definition of a Nozzle that dispenses Douche. Glad to see the passenger is going well.

Yep. That was definitely stupid. He nearly hit a lot of things doing that as well. Another biker, a few of those cars he barely missed... Looked like he was being a typical idiot by not compensating for the rider weight. He was trying to throw it around like it was just him on the bike, then went to go miss the truck and probably his last thought was "Oh shit, it won't whip as fast, I forgot about the..." (CRASH) I can't say I haven't been guilty of riding far too fast with a girl on the back while racing either, but I had a close call almost hitting one of the other guys and that ended any more of that.

I still take some girls quick around the curves just to show them the excitement of getting low. Even though I only ride about 60% with them on the back, I can still nearly get a knee down :D

It's a good thing these young(assumed) folks are indestructable!

All these peolpe on the forum posts that defended earlier racing on the street are awfully selfish. We, the riders, can take any risk, go as fast as we want, I suppoort that. But, there are other people on the road, even if you don't run into them like this guy, you fly by someone at 160mph, they freak out, crash, that is the issue. The worst one being doing that with a passenger, even if they support it. I say that as I have "been there done that".

Soooo - when I was 23 I owned a Z1R, kerker/29mm Mikuni SBs, crazy fast. I used to play "tag" with a buddy, sometimes with girlfriends on the back as the taggers. You pretty much did anything to avoid being 'it" - lane splitting, running lights, cutting through parking lots/sidewalks, etc. Point is my girlfriend of the time loved it. I also had a habit of out-running the police, I had stickers on my fairings (3), small black silhouettes of police cars of successful chases. On the fourth chase, at night, with her on the back, I doused my lights (in 78 you could stilll do that) and rabbited. I ended up missing a turn at 90mph I never saw. I then went up a slight embankment, 90ft through the air, landed on a set of RR tracks. I broke 4 ribs, arm, lotsa blood missing - she cracked her pelvic, compund fracture to leg. Both in the ER for a few days. Anyway, it was a wake up call - and while I still hit the highspeeds, I slow when near traffic, and never with a passenger.

I would not wish a horrific accident such as this on anyone nor anyone to a be victim of the actions of anyone performing such acts. Equally, I do not wear a badge nor serve and uphold the law as a police officer nor judge. Thus, I can *NOT* pass "judgement" on the actions of others, my only action is to be aware of the personal choices I make and the effects that they have on others and myself.

I personally choose to observe and conform to the laws where ever that maybe - that is my personal choice. In part due to my respect for others and the considerable responsibilities that I bear in supporting the lively-hoods of a number of people.

If one can not subdue ones passions then there are certain places where you can be a badass/test your limitations - such as a track.

I had a friend who took a corner at slow speed and banked hard over, at the same time an articulated truck came around the corner and severed his head from his body via a low speed impact collision with the counter-balance stem of the truck. The driver of the truck stopped and picked up a helmet that contained a head.

We all come in the same way and we all head to the same place, it really comes down to knowledge, awareness and how you choose to react to events in life that define you. Success is not gained by what you put out "there" it is all about how you "react" to what comes your way. Equally, consistency defines a person.

Chew it over and I hope it benefits some of you.

Safe riding.

Look closely at the dash right before the impact - you can see the passenger's head to the left of the rider's.

Thanks Capt. Sure enough. She was a good passenger, being that she stayed in sync with the rider the whole time.

good eyes

Good catch because I was starting to think there was no passenger as well man! yeah I agree it wasnt graphic, but you seriously dont want me posting up anything really bad do ya? Perhaps all the pics I tool in Iraq and all? NOT!

on the vid he was still going 110+ mph on impact near zero chance of surviving that. Just from the forces exerted on your internal organs would've been fatal.

Friend on a bike t-boned a truck and police said he was only going 31 mph at point of impact and killed him.

All the gear in the world will not save you in this type of crash.

brain injury, transected aorta, etc.

On a lighter note, hard to teach a chick to lean with you, not against! But once they do, poetry in motion!

i think the whole situation is BULLSHIT!! you know we all push ourselves a little bit when we ride our machines, but to take someone along and put them in a situation like this is just stupid. What goes through somoeone's mind for creating POTENTIAL DEATH i hope the guy that put his girl in danger gets what's coming to him, LIKE GUNNY said this guy is a DOUCHEBAG!!!

you get 100% of my support, i wring the bike out, only when there is no traffic in my sight, if i crash and hurt myself, i deserve it, no one else should pay for my stupidity
