I'm a big fan of foam filters vs gauze filters though. Never cared for gauze type filters as I feel the foam filters trap more dirt.

Interesting. Of course they claim it creates more power without publishing proof that it does. They at least claim something with their air filters. I guess it wouldn't really do much on a dyno in comparison to rolling where the air is being forced in. That makes sense I guess.

Just need the right type of dyno.. it can be done.

It's been proven that those MWR foam filter don't filter that good. There was a big thread posted with a scientific journal comparing all the tip brands. MWR didn't fair that well.

Thanks! I'll see what I can find out. Personal experience tells me it has a lot to do with the oils used.

I agree. I prefer a triple filter, extra super virgin Siberian mink oil lightly scented. I saw a significant mid range power increase and the shop smells better.

I can atest to that. I removed my MWR and went back to the stock filter. Far too much grit was in the airbox.

I ran two versions of the MWR filters, and switched the WSBK Sprint filter. We are very happy with it.

So what was the reason for the switch from MWR to Sprint? And you said WSBK filter? The P16? I'm assuming this is track only as that filter is junk on a street application. It does not seal at the airbox and filters nothing but large particulates. Please don't advocate the use of the 16 on the street.

Ok. Never saw any of his posts. He did just mention that he is running the Sprint WSBK filter and that is the P16. Does the P8 have a pliable seal on the frame? The 16 is a smooth finish which mates to a ruff, uneven surface on the airbox. Not a good seal at all as it's a race filter. Not something you want if your putting highway miles on the clock.

My bike is track only, so I run the P16 with carbon fiber frame. I have consistently recommended the P08 version for the street. Oh, the switch to MWR to Sprint was because the Sprint filter tech is has a higher rate of filtering particles than the MWR foam.

Thanks for the clarification. Had a couple of guys at the shop run the 16 on the street and it looked like someone dumped a vacuum cleaner bag inside the air box (exaggerated of course) but it was pretty bad. I use the 16 or now my version of the 16 that I put an O ring in the frame and it helped considerably to seal the box. Additionally I'm in the airbox screwing around with things every few days so it's not an issue. I have not actually ever seen a P8. Regardless, I'm really down on Sprint for their pricing. It's just ridiculous for what you get. Thanks again
