Part of the second recall includes checking the swing arm pivot bolts. As it was explained to me this past weekend, having just had my bike serviced for the second recall, the mechanic is too back the pivot bolt out 180 degrees then retighten the pivot bolt and the pinch bolt to a new torque setting. He then marked both sides with a small red paint mark (one on the bolt and one of the mounting plate) and recommended checking the alignment marks before each ride.
Mine had loosed up about 1-2 turns and I never noticed it. I would strongly suggest that ANYONE who has yet to have their bike in for the recall check the swingarm pivot bolts. The shoulder of the bolt itself should be offset within the mounting plate about 1 mm or so. If it is flush or sticking out from the plate then it has backed out and is loose and you need to get your bike to the dealer for service ASAP.
