Has anyone seen this on their termis?

Outstanding response time and recommendations. Cannot add anything to the great ideas here.

OP; read, and do exactly what Caliduc said and def do not mention dyno runs and if all else fails, do as per AH!

I just got to this message. As per rm4two, you can see the full Termi system completely disassembled in my members gallery.

On first pass your have a defect on the internals Termi header pipe, more than likely blown out grating. I have attached a photo where you can see the internal grating of my Termi's, as you can see they map to where your hot spot is. Either way, I would recommend you call your dealer and if at all possible have your bike towed to your dealer (do not ride if possible). You should be able to simply replace the exhaust slip-ons only.

Good Luck.
Thanks got the info. I never rode it since I put the full system on. There was only 3 pulls on the dyno and the tech said there was sparks and sparking debris flying out of the exhaust and he wasn't comfortable. He told me to run it hard to break them in/clean them out. I haven't ridden it do to PA weather. I hope it is covered parts and labor. They don't even have any miles at all.

Don't ride the bike at all, get it towed to the dealer. There is a critical fault with your slip-ons and riding the bike will simply make it worse and place you in unnecessary danger. First off, get on the phone to Ducati HQ and request emergency road side assist (Have your frame reference number handy) to tow your bike to the dealer, you should have a red Ducati owners card if not, then simply ring Ducati HQ . Your Termi exhaust will be covered by your warranty. Request a replacement slip-on exhaust. While you are in contact with Ducati HQ request to start the process to report a critical issue with the bike, reference your dealer and a summary of your experience. Ducati HQ will request your exhaust slip-ons from the Dealer for analysis.

As you have a full system put on, then request a complete replacement of the entire exhaust system (headers & slip-ons). The entire exhaust and labor by the dealer will be fully covered by your warranty.

Note : Your profile say Reading so that maybe Reading UK ?, if your in the USA then call Ducati Roadside Assist on 800 234 1353 and deal with Ducati North America HQ in Cupertino while in addition working the issue with your dealer.

We had 3 sets do that on the dyno. Not posted it as its not for us to dis the competition. It's due to the design and 1 reason we took a completely new approach on this bike.

You can read a little about it and AR in the latest may addition of Fast Bikes.

So you are saying you thing its the headers not the cans? The hesader is just simply a pipe. I was thinking there was a defect insdde the cans themselves.

So all of them will do this?

It is the Termi end-cans, however your warranty covers the entire exhaust, so at a minimum replace the end-cans and best case replace the entire exhaust. I am referring to the internal header pipe inside the term end-cans.

Considering this is the first on our forum, and the entire internet, I seriously doubt it. And Rich, you said you weren't but you just did. Bad form imho.

I stopped in at the dealer yesterday and one of the techs said he had seen it 2 other times on bikes they dynoed.

Perhaps i should post with 2 hats on so as not to offend other members.

As an owner and rider of a tricolore, my termi slip ons did that on the dyno whilst testing.

As AR I will keep our findings of other manufacturers products off the forum.

Im just saying we should wait for a dealers's response from what they have been told, or preferably direct from the factory before we jump to any conclusions.

I sell software, and would never relate a bad personal experience with a competing product to a potential customer, but rather point them to indepedent studies/results, but thats just me.

I sent pics and an email to Termignoni

Hello Matt,

thanks for contacting us.
We are very surprised by what we see in the photos you sent us. In a week we
will inform you about a potential solution for your problem because it's the
first time we see this kind of problem on a panigale 1199. Something must
have gone wrong.
Regards

Marco Burnengo
