I’ve not seen Ducati’s heated grips yet so this is probably a silly questions but do you have to use the grips that come with the kit or can you use after market grips like Progrips? Thanks.

So the heating element is in the grip itself? I was hoping they heated the tube so you could use after market grips.

This is what they look like...part number 96680573A ...

Is it true that the ‘21s allow for them?

If so, anyone explored a retrofit to an 18-20?

I’d happily spend some coin if it was an issue of swapping switchgear, buying the accessory and doing a software update.

I could definitely do that. Was just hoping for the factory integrated deal. If the SF has had it, and the 21 PV4 has it, surely one should be able to retrofit the kit to a ‘20?

Then again, if it involves a whole new wiring harness or something that’s probably not where I’d look to go.

As far as I’m aware - there *is* a Ducati kit for the V2 (all years). I didn’t go for it because it’d be hugely more expensive than the ones I’ve got on all my bikes. Even of ai just use the Duc for summer rides - 6am starts in the UK can be as low as 5c in the middle of July.

For the SF, V2 and ‘21 V4 varieties, all you need to do is purchase the kit and have the dealer enable the functionality.

Annoyingly it seems the regular V4’s ‘18-20 don’t even have the option to enable.

The 18-20 don't have the button on the throttle housing for them. If you don't have the button already, the Ducati part isn't for you. Just go aftermarket.

I've been told the wiring isn't there to accept the throttle housing button. But then again, that was a very quick (maybe a little too quick) response from my local dealer.

One of these days I'll get ambitious enough to dig up a wiring diagram and prove out of the '20V4 really doesn't have what all the SFV4s and V2s had.

Ah...I can’t vouch for the V4, only the V2
