Hey guys & gals, new Ducati owner here!

I've been riding for 15+ years: started on a CBR F2 in Atlanta GA, went to the F4i when I moved to DC, then a GSXR 600 (after the F4i was stolen). Had a fun highway crash (..... truck driver) that led to a 6+ year hiatus... but I'm back now!

I recently picked up a 2016 1299 S... for commuting. :flamesuit: I have reasons for why a 1299 S, one of which is [old enough to know better, still too young to care].

Anyone else using the panigale as their primary commuting vehicle?

Welcome and congrats on the new bike. I live in the same area you are. I may ride to work once in a while. I have a 45 miles commute.

Welcome and congrats. Use mine as a daily commuter. Not a problem at all.

One of the Old Timers here with a "Blinged Out" Tricolore living off Rt 50 in Fairfax if you ever wish to drop by and take a look under the cover? lol

Welcome and stay safe on the Beltway my man! :)

Welcome to the club. I don't think anyone here will flame you for commuting on your bike.

My 1299S is my ONLY commute vehicle; been commuting on motorcycles for 37 years now and the 1299S does just fine. My previous commute vehicle was my 2011 BMW S1000RR that I put over 56,000 miles on.

All my commute bikes get track time as well.

Cheers.

If you are looking for other Ducati riders in the area, check out the Mid Atlantic Ducati club (Mid-Atlantic Ducati Owner's Club), they have a good size contingent that ride the VA/MD area and do track days as well.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I'm 2 weeks in to commuting ~60/mi per day, and it's been fun! I'm getting some pain in my right wrist & find the suspension pieces jutting out under my left leg to be a nuisance, but all-in-all, great times!

I just installed the R&G tail tidy - I'll post pics in the regular forum tonight!
