Greeting from NJ to all. I was very interested in the 1199 when I read about it and now that it is going to be here in March/April definitely interested in coming back to the Duc. Had a 748 in the past and loved it (sans seating position and the clutch).

I currently have an Aprilia RSV4 - Factory, which is "great" bike, if it was not for the 2 dozen issues (quite a few serious) and a disaster of a customer relationship by the dealer and Piaggia/Aprilia. OK, enough bitching!

Cant wait to see the bike in person and the deposit is on its way. Just need to pick a dealer in NY/NJ.

Glad to join this group.

Cheers.

Welcome from the west coast. Over here, we only have a handful of Ducati dealerships to choose from. How is it in New York and New Jersey, do Ducati owners have a several dealerships to choose from?

There are only a few dealerships in the Metro area. I live in Manhatten but I keep my bike at my farm in Kingston. The Ducati dealership in Manhatten is for posers. True Ducatist go to Rockwell Cycles in Fort Montgomery NY. The shop is right off of Exit 16 on the NY State on 9W which is a great ride along the Hudson. Nick, the owner is a passionate motorcyclist who has track days at Monticello.

Tell him or his wife that Peter sent you.

Good luck.

Thanks Tricolore. I think you are right Rockwell might be the way to go. There are really four dealerships within 40 miles of me. Rockwell, which I have had very good experience with (they sold my race suit and helped me out with an oil leak on my RSV4-Factory). Jack Trebour out west is quite reputable too. Gold Coast rubbed me the wrong way when I was buying the Aprilia. That leaves the one in the city which will be the closest and most convenient.

Not sure where to put my deposit down yet. But by end of next week I will put the money down. I am quite excited about this bike and hope it's not a nightmare like the RSV4.
