Hello everyone,

I ordered my 1199s a few months ago and am finally getting it tomorrow here in Seoul. Searching through internet, I found this forum and excited to be a member.

The local cost of the bike after tax is outrageous. Panigale S is approximately US$39,000 after 10% tax and 5% registration fee. The street traffic in Seoul is crazy, but once you get out of downtown, there are beautiful local winding roads on the suburbs.

Korea is one of few countries (I believe there are only 3 in the world) that does not allow bike on the highways. There is a big local movement among the riders to change the law, but has been a very long and tiring fight.

In any case, enough about Korea, I read many threads regarding break-in and other helpful suggestions.

Looking forward to getting more helpful ideas from the forum.

Why wouldn't they allow large bikes on the HWY?

I heard they used to allow it.

There are few stories, but the one I heard was that in the 70's, president Park JungHee was riding on the highway and a bike passed him by. He did not like the idea of someone on the bike going faster then him and ordered the laws to prohibit any bikes on the highways.

Free Trade Agreement between the US and Korea is signed and there is a pressure from the US govt to Korea to change the law because it will help sales on Harley's. I welcome the idea of allowing bigger bikes on the highways but changing the law due to the outside pressure does not look good...

in indonesia the price of panigale tricolour is US $53,000, in Indonesia motorbike also not allowed in highway, but sometimes we pay the police to lead us in highway..lol....

Welcome! You'll gonna love your motorcycle!
Be careful about the heat from the manifold. That actually bothers me sometimes.

See you around!
