High Idle, Popping Exhaust

Thought I'd take it out again and I'm now 2 hours from home, in deepest darkest Wales, and it's been absolutely fine. The method in my madness was that if it does start playing up, there is a ducati dealer in North Wales, and I can at least enjoy some good roads!

Not sure what to put it down to except I haven't explored much of the upper rev range so far.

Will keep you all posted

I would really like to know what the cause is. Just for kicks.

I inquired, and am very curious as well. I will eventually get the info. The gentleman I spoke to just didn't have the details at the time we met.

Just to update, I did 400 miles round Wales yesterday (great weather for it) and it behaved impeccably the whole time.

I'm not sure what to put it down to.... Some of the things I did before I went out, that I forgot to mention...

1. I made sure the rubber on the throttle was back in place, as mine keeps jumping off (anyone else's do this?) I also worked the throttle through it's full travel a couple of times to check it wasn't sticking
2. I switched the ignition on and off 5 times, as someone mentioned on here, to reset the TPS. No idea if I did it right or if it actually worked.
3. I changed the EBC from 3 to 0 (I struggle to tell a difference to be honest)

That's all for now. If it happens again, I'll report and see about taking it to the dealer.

I wonder if the problem was down to contaminated fuel...

Anyone found what caused this as mine has popping exhaust only mod removed flapper valve.

No other issues, only 5K on ODO, Has new oil/filter and new air filter, No CEL or errors

I had a very similar experience this weekend. Out of nowhere the bike starts idling high, popping, and acts like it is running on 1 cylinder. Funny thing is after letting the bike cool down and restating, it acts OK for about 10 min of riding then fueling goes south. Just had the ecu flashed by Rexxer a few weeks ago and everything has been fine till yesterday. Reset the tps, and it seemed to make it worse. Really frustrated now

Installed new NGK 6869 plugs tonight. Both old plugs were fuel fouled but the vert cylinder was pretty bad. All black and dry. Horiz cyl plug was almost as bad but not quite. The bike has just over 8,000 miles. Haven't ridden it yet since the new plugs, but plan to this week. Hopefully this is the issue....

Bump. My bike is experiencing the same symptoms. Did you guys happen to figure out the issue?

Try plugs first

But some other thread says it the gasket under airbox.
I asked for the picture he uploaded but this site picture hosting has died.
