Sorry for the terrible pictures (in more way than one). I came out of a classic car/wine/pizza meet tonight, looked over where my bike was parked and saw no bike...only two parallel silvery things shining in the distance about a foot off the ground. A huge shot of adrenaline doesn't help one steady a camera.

Bent clip on. ...... front fairing. Cracked/damaged left side fairing. Damaged right side fairing (the side the car hit). Bent kickstand. Clutch lever is bent, which may have damaged the clutch cylinder, too. Left mirror is jacked. New Rhinobar bar end I put on yesterfuckingday is buggered.

Did the ... .... who backed into it leave a note or try to find the only guy at the event with a helmet? Nope. The felcher drove off instead.

Just filed a police report.

Looks like I'll be dropping the $$ I was going to spend on Woodcraft Rearsets on my insurance deductible instead. Yay!

That was painful, to see the bike on the side and the damage it took. Hope they can find that motorist but chances are slim I believe. Feeling damn sad for you. Hope you can get it abck to shape soon.

I'm going to email the event coordinator, who has a list of all the people who attended. There's silver/grey paint on the right side fairing from the bumper, but even with all that I doubt the Menlo Park police would do any sort of cross checking or CSI work.

I am avoiding looking at those pictures again. Don't understand the stupidity of some people and lack of respect for others property.

Wow man that really sucks. And .... the guy who hit you and didnt tell anyone. Not cool at all

Sorry about that, It sucks that ppl can be like that. I hope your deductible isn't that high and that it gets fixed quick. I hope karma catches up to the jerk that did it.

I feel your pain man, seeing those pics makes me feel like a red rag to a bull!!! Can only imagine your reaction seeing that

Hopefully insurance will you out parts + labor. If u do the work yourself, maybe squeeze out enough savings for rearsets. If you're around LA area, I'll offer a wrench to ya.

More than the money aspect of it all, when I went out it was like seeing a loved one who'd been hit by a car lying in the street. I had to tell myself, "another few seconds on the ground won't do any more damage," while I took out my camera. But in reality I just wanted to get her back upright and make sure she was still alive.

Fired right up, btw. Had to bend the clutch lever back into place, but other than that (and the new angle of the clip-on), I was impressed with how the Pani stood up to whatever monstrosity knocked her down. There's a serious bend to the kickstand, which remained 'down' even while lying on the ground, so I'm guessing it functioned like a mini pole vault, which caused the clip on to bend so far. A high-side while parked, basically.

Note: if you ever have to pick up a Panigale, turn around so your butt is facing the tank. Grab the clip on with one hand and the tail section with the other and lift.

Don,t worry mate Karma will punish that prick in some way. Sorry to hear.

This is my poor baby after a woman blew a stop sign while texting right into the main road I was traveling on. I landed on the hood of her car and she tried to drive off. Bike had $15,000 worth of damage. I had hurt neck, back and broken pelvic bone. 7 months later and I am still in pain 5/10 depending on how much activity I do. Thank god it was a busy street and there were like 50 witnesses with smartphone cameras otherwise she would have probably kept driving after I rolled off her hood.

Dennis, terrible to see this! Imagining you going several thousand miles without any incident (just that one tip over) and then this. Must be horrible!

Also check the right end stop on the lower triple clamp. Probably won't have withstood the impact.

Go find that sucker yourself. Police ain't as helpful as tv suggests...

Sorry to see this happen. This is why I hate the idea of leaving my bike alone out in public.....:-(

It sucks to drop your own bike, and sucks more when a friend drops your bike. But to have your bike knocked over by some stranger, I can't even begin to wonder.... That is horrible.
