Wow, $4700 for what sounds like superficial damage. The pleasure of owning a Ducati! I'm glad there was no engine case or structural damage though.

I have only read about the Bestem CF and all has been good. But, I'm partial to the Ducati red, so my vote would be keep it stock. I was looking at the Woodcraft clip ons awhile back and like the fact that they have different sized risers. I was either going to go with a set of those or have someone cut down the DP race seat. I feel like my cog is over the dash and it's uncomfortable. I think your choice of either of those is good, they make quality products.

+1. I totally agree with Bronch, keep the fairing Ducati stock red ... the Ducati red Panigale looks magnificent, give the Bestem CF fairing a miss.

Just my two cents .. I would suggest you consider getting some Sato Racing frame sliders and the black windshield as per Bronch's bike - it looks proper badass.

I'll most likely just go with stock red fairings. But ya can't say this isn't bad ass!

Has me thinkin'....

+1000 on the the black/gray/cf/alum corse bodywork. It'll make your bike look like the decepticon of panigales...

clutch case damage?

AntiHero: "Just got the damage report: $4700. Both fairings, front fairing, kick stand, lower triple and all the little bits that break at the clip-on level."

#1, so sorry to see what happened. #2, I have the Sato engine/clutch case slider with suspension support, but I'm considering the GB racing clutch cover.
-What do you think? Overkill?
-Did the fall touch your clutch case at all?

I have a good friend that is a service writer at a bike shop. First of all when it comes to bikes, it's always replace not repair. They have written off a lot of bikes just because there was a scratch on the frame. Take the cost of replacing a major part + labour involved, and it's usually not worth it for the insurance company to repair it. Then there's all the what if's, are the wheels damaged but not visible, is the sub frame tweaked slightly but not visible, etc etc.

OEM fairings are always expensive, the manufacturer matters not. The quote also includes the labour, and any Ducati dealership isn't going to have the cheapest shop rate in town that's for sure.

I answered your PM.

I agree with you. Its just amazing how much it cost for what was essentially a tip over.

I know I'm late in the mix but I'm still a new member so it's okay lol.

Far as the topic goes, it brought back a sad memory for sure. About a year and a half ago, someone had knocked over my Daytona 675 in the parking lot of my job. The 2 parking lot patrol guys came into my job to tell me they picked my bike up off the ground because someone had tipped it over. Went outside to look and I felt sick to my stomach. If it was my Panigale in that same situation, I probably would have fainted.

On a positive note, I too have State Farm and they estimated $3800 in damages (front fairing, left fairing, dent in gas tank, bar end, clutch lever, mirror, cracked tailsection. My deductible was only $200 and because it was pretty much all cosmetic damage (sounds muchhhhhhh worse than it looked) I decided to keep the $$$ and sell the bike. Sold the bike for $8k in the condition it was in and pocketed the $3600 from insurance. Basically owned the bike for 3 years for the total cost of about $1500 (which was the cost of my aftermarket parts on it since bike was $11.2k out the door). State Farm FTW!

Anyway, one of these days, I'm going to be all caught up on your longgggggggggggggggg coast to coast thread. That's just awesome!

If I saw that happen I would have gone after that person... Even if its not my bike. I'm pissed off for you bro!

dude, sorry to see those pics
I sideswipe a parked car once, did not have space to stop, drove down the road and came back to check on the damage - i made some dents and took out half the bumper!
left a note and got the insurance to deal with it.
I think my conscience will not let me leave a scene like that.

Still waiting on the left side fairing. Have all the other parts sitting on my desk. The clip-ons were all I needed to replace to get 'er back on the road. Since that happened I have not been in any huge rush. (Plus there was a little delay with some of the parts.)

I did NOT go to the Ducati dealer. I went to an independent shop out here in CA (Advance Cycle Service) for the estimate. I heavily considered going carbon--the cost would be about the same using RC components--that is, until I added in the cost to refinish the tank. When it came down to it, though, the red is gorgeous and is what I want to see when I walk out into the parking lot (so long as it's the vertical kind of red!).

As for the parts--the parts on a 25k bike don't add up to 25k. It's more like 100k if you were to buy all the parts individually!
