I know I'm late in the mix but I'm still a new member so it's okay lol.

Far as the topic goes, it brought back a sad memory for sure. About a year and a half ago, someone had knocked over my Daytona 675 in the parking lot of my job. The 2 parking lot patrol guys came into my job to tell me they picked my bike up off the ground because someone had tipped it over. Went outside to look and I felt sick to my stomach. If it was my Panigale in that same situation, I probably would have fainted.

On a positive note, I too have State Farm and they estimated $3800 in damages (front fairing, left fairing, dent in gas tank, bar end, clutch lever, mirror, cracked tailsection. My deductible was only $200 and because it was pretty much all cosmetic damage (sounds muchhhhhhh worse than it looked) I decided to keep the $$$ and sell the bike. Sold the bike for $8k in the condition it was in and pocketed the $3600 from insurance. Basically owned the bike for 3 years for the total cost of about $1500 (which was the cost of my aftermarket parts on it since bike was $11.2k out the door). State Farm FTW!

Anyway, one of these days, I'm going to be all caught up on your longgggggggggggggggg coast to coast thread. That's just awesome!

If I saw that happen I would have gone after that person... Even if its not my bike. I'm pissed off for you bro!

dude, sorry to see those pics
I sideswipe a parked car once, did not have space to stop, drove down the road and came back to check on the damage - i made some dents and took out half the bumper!
left a note and got the insurance to deal with it.
I think my conscience will not let me leave a scene like that.

Still waiting on the left side fairing. Have all the other parts sitting on my desk. The clip-ons were all I needed to replace to get 'er back on the road. Since that happened I have not been in any huge rush. (Plus there was a little delay with some of the parts.)

I did NOT go to the Ducati dealer. I went to an independent shop out here in CA (Advance Cycle Service) for the estimate. I heavily considered going carbon--the cost would be about the same using RC components--that is, until I added in the cost to refinish the tank. When it came down to it, though, the red is gorgeous and is what I want to see when I walk out into the parking lot (so long as it's the vertical kind of red!).

As for the parts--the parts on a 25k bike don't add up to 25k. It's more like 100k if you were to buy all the parts individually!

AH,
How did the Woodcraft clipons treat ya?. Any problems or dislikes about them? I think I'll be going with them since they are two for the price of one stock bar.

And which set did you get, the 57mm or the 53mm? I'm assuming the 57mm are for Ohlins and 53mm is for base model forks.

I think its the other way around, the marzocchi forks are larger.
