Yeah they make excellent products.
After a couple years I’ll do something different. I don’t remember which compound I used I have so many. If youre just starting out Sonax makes a product called “perfect finish“ it works well. 1 step product good amount of cut and finish.
Ah OK thank you very much

Correct on the areas I knew I was going to install PPF I waited and coated them later.
It was basically just the nose fairing and front fender. I didnt coat the headlights Just PPF.

ive seen a few bad PPF jobs (done by experts for lots of dog) where it gets condensation under the film and looks frosty, so my favorite is to protect critical areas and leave the rest just coated.
its good u can do it yourself for easy replacement

did u use HALO on the film?

Xpel ultimate and Xpel stealth are the films I use.

I’d like to know, did u apply a super slick coating on the PPF?
Yeah it has the same coating as on the fairings Gtechniq CSL and EXO.
Matte carbon parts were coated with Dr Beasley matte coating.

Where did you get the films if you don't mind me asking
I have rolls of their film for cars. But for bikes I normally buy the precut kits from tankslapper.

Ah OK he hasn't made the 2020's yet he said they're coming soon

Podium Racing Ti axle
Saved a bit more weight with this. The finish is really nice and we shaved .5 of a lb.

Updated look on Thirsty Thursday
Just at my favorite watering hole. They have 100 oct and 95 oct out of the pump.

I would be happy even with the 93. CA and its' water like 91 is just ugh. I too have a 76 station near by with the 100. But the tank is so small that I would put only few drops to mix with the 91 for any "better result". So I have not bothered doing it. Yet. Ha.

Boostane works extremely well.
Only small amounts needed to raise the actual octane levels. I run it in my turbo Busa to bring Arizona 91 up to 95/96. Only takes about 4 ounces in 5 gallons to do so. Better than torco.
On such a high compression engine like the V4 it wouldnt be a bad idea to bring the octane levels up

I just might treat her to a full tank of 100, for Memorial Day ride. Fireworks everywhere, including the Akra pops for everyone!

916 V4
This is arguably the most Iconic bike ever made. I noticed it while out so I had to get a picture. This bike started my love affair with motorcycles. It still looks amazing for a bike that was designed in the early 90's. Its so far removed from the other motorcycle offerings very subtle in design without the loud colors, stickers and unnecessary vents. You can see the 916 DNA in the V4. Its amazing how far we have come from about 115HP to 200HP with ABS, DTC, DSC, DWC, DPL, DQS, EBC and DES. Imagine another 30 years Im sure bikes will be electric so with that being said the future sucks lol. I'll stay in the present.

I want to say thank you to this post I've been watching and following it closely. I was curious did you ceramic coat the matte carbon fiber pieces and what product / procedure did you use?

No problem hopefully you found it entertaining. Matte carbon is super easy to protect. Mainly because there is no polishing .

Here are the steps:
1. Clean It. I use matte approved soap (doesn't have gloss enhancers or fillers)
2. Prep It. I use Gyeon prep or Carpro eraser some times Gtechniq panel wipe
3. Coat It. I love Dr Beasleys for matte it adds no shine and works excellent. You can use any ceramic coating on matte but it may add a slight sheen.

Here's where I did the exhaust shields

Ah ok what soap do you recommend? The Akrapovic is coming in next week and want to prep the CF pieces correctly. Also going to use ZircoFlex on the inside part for heat resistance. Also a big HK guy. I run a 416 C for work

I'll get what you recommend : Dr Beasley for the soap.

Also can I use Sonax perfect finish on the matte or and then ceramic coat it?
