Seems like a lot of dependence on the dealership to do simple tasks these days. What happens when the warranty runs out? Sell the bike?

I do all the work on my own bike aside from the valves! I only do the first service through the dealer so they can update all the modules and work out any teething issues

I think the update at the service is what broke my DQS. We tend to think the latest and greatest is the best with software/firmware, but unless there's an identified need I prefer not to update anything.

Mine being a '22 I wonder if it would have the update you received already baked into it.

I've met the owner of Ducshop at Barber. They had some nice MV Agusta on display for the weekend. Great guy and team. Glad to hear your area will have them as authorized and don't have to deal with your previous experience.

Plot twist.

Ducati North America called me back this morning. They said the warranty was not declined. The dealership never reached out to the Service Area Rep to even apply for a warranty claim.

Mountain Motorsports Roswell was just trying to straight rip me off.

After that call I went and picked the bike up from Mountain Motorsports immediately. I asked the service rep (Mike) what he had to say about this situation, and got some hemming and hawing and "I dont know".

Feels good to never have to step foot in that place again.

Glad you were able to sort that out. Hopefully that new dealer is able to sort the bike out and you can get back to enjoying your bike!

It's good to hear it was not Ducati USA being retarded. I'd be done with that dealer for sure.

Ducati USA was actually pretty receptive and they seemed genuinely concerned by the situation. They told me to contact them again when I take the bike to Wow Motorcycles and they would make sure things go smoothly from here. And said they would look into this issue further with Mountain Motorsports.

But yeah, I am done with Mountain Motorsports.

Just FYI Mountain Motorsports in Roswell is the absolute worst. I had a terrible experience there too trying to buy a bike. Sad thing is I know the sales manager I used to work with him. They could careless about their customers all they care about is money. Sorry you also had a bad experience.

Mountain also has a satellite store in Kodak TN near me and I would concur that they suck without bound. I have not used their service department but have corrected some ZFG (zero-Fs-given) work on other peoples stuff.

Did the well reviewed mechanic stay on with the new ownership of the ducshop?

Yep, he is Mark Sutton, the founder of DucShop (About DucShop).

Wow Motorcycles bought his whole business, all his equipment, and hired the entire staff in preparation for getting their Ducati franchise up and running.

Was perfect timing for me, and I am very glad that I will have a true professional available when its time for the desmo service. Having Mountain Motorsports do the desmo service would have been near certain disaster.
