Honda finally stepping up their game?..

It's all about personalization. The canvas it's done on is almost irrelevant.....ALMOST! The Panigale just happens to have a leg up on all the others from a visual standpoint. I can't outride my cbr600 let alone my 1199 so performance is basically a non-factor.

Valid point. Visualization is also unique. As one who prefers the beauty of materials and workmanship over paint. I remember marveling at the absolute precision of a meticulously welded titanium bicycle frame and how stunning the weds were. I also remember the sheer horror of watching the finishing department polish the welds smooth. That welders masterpiece was visually destroyed to give the sales department theirs.

Well I do happen to own what I think are exemplary examples of both brands and I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that yes I like the Ducati styling over the Honda. That being said, Honda is a better quality product in every category. From a mechanical and metallurgical perspective, Ducati is down the list a ways. Again great bike but their materials and mfg are not where Honda is and I have taken both examples to the extreme from a construction perspective.

The reason why i wanted a Honda is because it's reliable and cheap to service compared to Ducati :(

I don't think the new blade looks that bad. Is it as good looking as a Panigale? F%^k NO!! But its not hideous . I think a lot of the problem with jap bikes that make them look so bad is the crappy graphics not the over all lines. Paint it one color with some well placed logos and put a pipe on there and it wont be to bad. Or look at the R1 when the pics came out people wanted to puke. In person though they dont look that bad.

...they are great motorcycles, but once you own a ducati (to me at least) the feel of the others is simply not there....i guess its partly the rumble of the engine, the feel of the tight suspension, the over all bike itself.....the honda or kawasaki just feels too "antiseptic, sterile, utilitarian"....too much like a refrigerator or toaster

I know you guys who don't own Panigale love to troll but FYI no one goes to jail straight away there are over 100,000 people waiting to go to court in Australia for various reasons and i guess i am one of those.

They haven't even sent me charges for my alleged crimes yet but they have taken our bike :(

Fines and courts are federal revenue raisers they profit on our mistakes - welcome to police state of Australia: interestingly according to Australian Bureau of Statistics over 10,000,000 people each year paid some kind of fines of some sort and the minimum fines paid last year alone averaged about $500 that is 10,000,000 people X $500 = $5,000,000,000 in revenue !!!!

If you do own Panigale well shame on you for trolling we are supposed to be above these crap because we are a Panigale owner lol :) (Are you a Hillary Clinton Supporter or a Progressive Left Wing Liberal?) most trolls online are one of those above mentioned.

By the way saw the new 2017 CBR1000RR bike on motorcycles youtube channel - it looks really ugly and very Typical of Japanese they have no idea how to make sexy looking anything. How hard is it to hire a European designer from Italy? And why do Japanese bikes all have only one head light working on a dual headlight bikes? The number of people that stopped me at traffic lights just to tell me one of my head lights are blown or not working was really annoying when we owned a Honda CBR600RR.

I guess the only one headlight working on a dual head light Japanese bikes is to let the world know "WE ARE JAPANESE" ????

All lighting is crisp LED, with the twin front headlights offering high/low beam on both*sides. Crowned with a sharply angled new logo, the CBR1000RR SP ...You really don't know what your talking about!!! ALL Japanese bikes are NOT like that, my 2016 ZX10R also works on both sides high-low beam. Yes your CBR 600 comes like that, But you are talking about a LOWEND Japanese bike...I'm not brand loyal, I buy what I like..

Oh, and the fact that Ducati has had some 1 headlight wonders in their lineups in the past.. ;)

Well now you own a Ducati. Man up, dude. How about banking away a couple of paychecks instead of spending every dollar you earn and learn the definition of discretionary income.

I have been silently reading your posts about how to do and what to buy for your and your wife's shiny new 1299s, whining about getting caught WOT and not being able to afford the fine, and now considering another bike.

Yeah, it's now my business since you are airing your dirty laundry on a public forum.

Grow up.

It looks better than the current R1 (which isn't saying much, the R1 is hideous)

The S1000RR is fairly hideous as well
