Hey everyone hope your all keeping well and safe. I don’t think there is a magic method to this but I thought I’d ask. I had someone fabricate a titanium horizontal pipe for my 1199s. The pipe on the right hand side that’s exposed. I doubt anyone has just swapped out this pipe but I was wondering if there are any easy shortcuts. It doesn’t seem possible to replace it without first removing the silencers. Here goes the challenge as we all know the left side Allen bolt is a pig to get too. I can’t even remove the footpegs to get to it because I cannot get leverage with the tools I have. There doesn’t seem to be some magic formula for doing this or does anyone have a magic trick or technic. Thanks for your time cheers

Polish that bitch

my stainless was rusted to .... b4 sanding and polishing
400 grit, 600, 1,000, 1500 then a polishing wheel. Top it off with some industrial stainless polish

Nice ... well I already purchase a nice titanium piece that will turn a nice blue hue eventually... if I ever get it fitted of course

Oh man. Let’s see if I can find some instructions. That link pipe is supposed to be ez to get on there I thought
Thanks Kev. I was hoping not to strip half the bike lol.. definitely not as easy to work on as my old 998.

With the silencers removed, and all of the retaining springs removed between exhaust sections (horizontal and vertical), there's a good bit of slop in the exhaust. There may be enough to remove the intermediate horizontal pipe... if so, it'll be close. Alternatively, leave the silencers and retaining springs in place and separate the horizontal manifold from the cylinder head, complete with the intermediate pipe. The manifold bolt on the ride side should be accessible. Access to the other bolt may be obstructed (at least to some degree) by the lower radiator and/or air extractor, or... perhaps it can be easily accessed as well. I can't recall for sure.

Thanks I think I’ve probably been approaching this the wrong way and to your point the manifold approach may be easier. I guess this depends on how many horizontal cylinder manifold bolts there are and how accessible they are.

There may be three in all. The one on the right is easily accessed. How difficult it is to access the remaining two is an unknown.

Just read all the other comments. Looks like you already bought this hah
