How bad of a nightmare is it to hook up the Oberon bar end signal/mirror kit?

I'm trying to find the old post and had no luck, but I thought I read somewhere that the install of this is a real bugger due to having to feed wiring through the bars or somethin along those lines. I want to run this but not in love with the thought of too much messin around on my new R. Anyone have this experience?

It is a bit of work. Mine didn't have long enough leads, so I had to extend them. Stagger the splices and inch or two, as mine kept shorting out even though they were properly insulated with electrical tape. To run the leads through the handlebars is also tricky because of the pin that locates the bar - use a piece of wire to pull the lead through. Kind of a PITA, but with some patience it can be done. Then there is routing and hiding of the leads, which requires removing the upper fairing and air duct covers to do properly. If the leads are reversed by the way, the turn signals won't work, so make sure you test them well before you button everything back up. They sure look good when it is done though.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like a bit more of a headache than I am willing to, so really appreciate the heads up. There were a nice smaller set of mirrors with signals that were mentioned on one of my posts I may consider. The Rizomas still stick out too far for my taste, so gonna have to do some shopping. Stock Pani mirrors are a huge pet peeve of mine...insanely ugly and ruin the flow and lines of the bike...a sin of a look..but if functional..well then..a whole other arguement

Sure, the stock Pani mirrors are functional.....that is until you get on the freeway. Even on the streets, the can be useless. Any decent speed on the bike and the mirrors become useless due to vibration.

DoubleO, make sure your mirrors are properly tightened down. Mine lost a fastener, and shook so badly I couldn't see anything clearly in it. The dealer replaced the fastener, and it was considerably better.

No idea on the installation issues so I cannot help you there but I have them with the CNc mirrors and they are a great upgrade both in aesthetics and functionality.
