There's pro's to a dedicated track bike for sure but I'm more in line with your point here. I want to develop my skills on one bike. I always wear the same attire when I ride so that I have the muscle memory of that feeling. Boots are a different feel than traditional shoes so I always wear the same boots. Also mostly wear leathers as they have a different feel than jeans or other attire. Same with the bike. Panigale is different from other bikes in so many ways. Engine braking, riding position, throttle delivery.
I ride my R like I stole it. Don't want to crash it but I have. Put $600 eBay plastics on it after a track low side and got back on it.
My $.02 worth but we're all different...

Same here, Base model with Ohlins front and rear and cheap fairings.
14 trackdays and 13k km of street riding on the same bike. Lowsided once but no big deal, new shift lever and some buffing to remove the scratches from the fairing and off we went.
