Dealer has had my bike for quite some time just to do a slip-on. They are telling me that the holdup is getting the license key for Tuneboy. It looks like I can just buy a key off the Tuneboy website. Any idea how long it takes for them to generate the key? Are they full of it, or does it legitimately take over a week to get the software key?

Ordered from AUS and got it in a week. Not sure if this was resolved.

You ordered the +1 VIN key or the whole kit?

I ordered my full tuneboy kit last week, still havent heard anything back. Curious how long ship times are.

I’ve ordered one too on 5th of March, I’ve wrote them an email on [email protected] the next day to provide me with some details regarding shipping, but no response so far... I bought the starter kit tuneboy usb kit - tuning only for 399 AUD, it’s all I need to do what spawn350 wrote in the first thread right?

I bought a tune boy kit last yr and had the same issue , no response for 6 days.

When Wayne finally replied ( the owner ) he said he’s a one man company and I pretty much should be patient. His product is the best ... bla bla bla .

I canceled my order I didn’t want to wait 6 days for replies if I ever had questions or needed support with their product . To me wasn’t worth the headache I wanted fast support.

I now have a woolich product and love it .

As long as you bought the "Tune" one, then yes. Tune does everything but Cruise Control. You need either the "Tune & Cruise" or just the "Cruise" to get cruise control. "Tune" has everything else.

I've received an email from tuneboy last night, he told me the package was shipped and gave me a tracking number, but it doesn't work so far when i check the sipping status, I'll wait and see when it arrives, a week maybe two.
Can anyone offer some advice on how to remap certain things?
- AF ratio on idle and low range rpm
- Radiator fan start point
- Settings or remap to take advantage of the full system akrapovic ( I also have the DDS map-key provided with the system but on the 1299 it says it should be used with OE DDS diagnostic eq.
Thank you

I also received an email overnight saying mine had shipped.

if you go to Support | Tuneboy and download the Mitsubishi ECU file (assuming you're doing this on a Panigale...), you'll unzip the package and find that there's a PDF in there with the how-to's for nearly everything. I don't however see anything about the fan setting in the manual, so see #2 for a down and dirty:

Q1) For the AF Ratio, you'll want to carefully read the manual in that zip file and study which tab in this window (from my previous paragraph) you'll want to adjust. Personally I'd recommend a getting someone to properly adjust this on a dyno as messing with these values blindly will likely not end well.

Q2) After unzipping that download from the website, open up the "TuneEdit_Mitsubishi.exe" file. Click OK on the prompts, then find the tune for your bike and open it. You'll see a red window open up, defaulting on the F1 tab. If you go up to Edit at the top, you'll see a "Thermo Fan" option in the drop down. If you click on that, you'll get a window that shows fan on and fan off settings. Note that this is in Celsius. Once set, you'll want to save that file (i'd recommend with a new name). That will be the file you flash when you get your kit. See below for which map to select before doing this step.

Q3) As for your question on the map for your full akra system, if you dig into the "Tunes" folder, then Ducati, then panigale 1299, you'll find a couple files (one for Tune only, the other for Tune and Cruise) that say "FullAkra" towards the end of the name. You'll want to use the one that directly relates to your purchase. If i recall, you said you bought the $399 AUD Tune only kit, so you'll want to use the file ending in "Tuning_FullAkra_V6_7tune.dat" file. These files are basically a "canned tune" that you would get from other tuning solutions like PowerCommander, BrenTuning, RapidBike, etc. It isn't guaranteed to make your bike run at 100% potential with that setup, but it should be much better than stock, or with only the upmap key. Again, you'll want to work with a tuning specialist on a dyno to set up a trim file for this map to get the most out of it.

To add on to my answer for Q3. I'd recommend flashing that map (with the fan change you prefer) and seeing how the bike runs and rides with just that canned map, without making an AF ratio changes. These canned maps should have a lot of smoothing out already built into them and you honestly won't be able to get much if anything more out of them without putting the bike on a dyno and working with an experienced tuner.

Q1) you can actually use the narrowband sensor to tune the low load sections by riding it around. It is explained in the manual. I havnt had to do anything from the stock Map as it seems pretty smooth to me. I would also just take it to the dyno and tune each cylinder after you get your mods (slip-ons or full system).

Q2) Just to add to this, supposely the first time it turns on, it will turn on at the stock settings then afterward it will turn on at the correct temp that you set. Just FYI if you think it wasnt working.

Q3) Get it dyno tuned.

Thank you so much, very impressed by your detailed help.

I know the best thing to do here is to take it to a dyno and set it up correctly, but problem nr. 1 I live in Romania, this guys dream at a motorcycle dyno, I don't think there's a motorcycle dyno in this country, yet alone a specialist in Ducati map configurations, I'll search deeper.
Problem nr. 2 well I want to learn to do this on my own, especially that i'm not interested in performance gains, my goal is to smooth out the lower end ride, and to adjust that lean idle, to eliminate that problem with the engine stalling when stopping at a light.
It's a EU 1299s Panigale from 2016, I don't have that charcoal canister as US/others bike do.
I am waiting anxiously for the tune boy to arrive, it will take a while... And after I'll play a little with it I'll post my results here.

Till then I'll continue with the summer prep:
-changing out those two plastic gears for the water pump with the kaemna's steel ones (from 1199R) , the metal gear for the oil pump (idk why the panigale 1299R changes the code for it and I ordered it to see the difference).
-ordered a new lower water radiator from motomike.eu (promises a better cooling capacity, maybe the fins are bigger, idk, mine has some fins bent by rocks)
-as a fail safe I'm wiring a direct relay to the fan and the on/off switch on the handlebar
I have seen here on the forum someone mentioned about a solution to mount fan/fans to the upper radiator, he said he saw being done, idk how from the lack of space but I am curious if anyone has a like or pictures on the matter.
Thank you.

My pleasure.

I honestly think that just loading the base TuneBoy Full Akra tune will solve 99% of your issues. You really can't make any positive changes to the map without having it on a Dyno and also using a wideband 02 sensor or sniffer in the pipe. I would plan on giving the map a try and see if you're happy with it or not.

Best of luck and report your results when you have it all flashed up!
