Hello, I am going to do few trackdays this year with my 1199s for 1st time and I want to add some protection on it so I can keep calm and enjoy it. Here is the list of the protectors I am planning to buy. Can you tell me brands and models ? What do u use ? Whats worth ?

1. Engine case cover
2 . Clutch cover (I already have a carbon cover. Should I keep it?)
3. Frame sliders (I dont think this bike has a place to mount it so it can be something like engline case + sliders )
4. Front and rear axle sliders
5. Handbar sldiers (Probably not, what do u think ?)

Sadly, while everything you listed above helps, they don’t guarantee that your bike will even survive a low side. For example, the gas tank, rear sets, and the rear fairings can easily get damaged.

I think frame sliders are controversial. Some say that frame sliders can catch something on the road and cause the bike to flip instead of slide.

I am personally a big fan of bar end sliders and axle sliders. I low sided on my 848 and they prevented a lot of damage.

My advice is to ride the track well within your limits. There is no track day trophy. Also, Keith Code always says that riders learn more riding at 70% of their ability because they can think about what they are doing instead of just trying not to crash.

I am not gonna pass my limits but I will feel better if my bike is protected. I can't protect it from all the damage, but it would be good to minimize it.

Every crash is different as each crash is related to the speed you were going, how leaned over was the bike etc etc
Is not about surpassing the limit
Mistakes can happen mid turn, too much throttle too soon, adjusting body mid turn, too much brake while still leaned over etc
If is going to give you peace of mind to have more fun then go for all of them
Race fairings make more sense but Is time consuming to be changing all the time
You get faster each time tho

Thinking about protecting your bike in case...is good but first things first!
Is your protective gear ready and in good condition for track, do you have back and chest protectors, (I highly suggest both)?
Are your gloves in great shape that will not split seams in case of crash and expose your hands... you get the point!?

having had a couple of falls i would say that the DP alloy case protectors are a good idea, a set of axle sliders and rear sets with folding toes. Bring a spare set of bars since the break super easy, spare levers and pedals. A lot depends on how serious you are, but I'd get a set of track fairings if you start getting into it.

agree getting personal safety nailed is also key. I recently got a d-air mugello suit and give it great wraps. Definitely worth getting a proper fitting - the 2D data it captures is very useful - although some of it is way more technical than I suspect I will ever need.

Thank you for all the replies. I got really good protective gear for myself. Dainese Torque D1 Out, Dainese Gloves (forgot the model), Dainese Trickster EVO C2 kangaroo suit, Shoei X-Spirit III. NO chest and back protectors.

I will go for a racing fairing only if I "feel" the bike in the track and decide to use it for there. The other protectors would be useful for street riding also. I am looking mostly at R&G but I want to know more brands from ur experience and not from the paid reviews in the internet. Thank you.

from my experience,
bolt on plastic r&g (clutch cover)->broken, oil leak
bolt on spider aluminium (clutch cover)->bent, screw hole in the cover broken.
-1 for bolt on.

axle sliders yes, but with steering stoppers.

Hello again, Has anyone uses the GB Racing protections ? They looks good and cheap but...nylon ?

I have them, but wouldn't say that they're tested. Once on though, they have marked the casings.
