Hi, I‘m new to the V2 game …

Everywhere I‘m reading „my bike stalls…“ and the fix is to remove the EVAP, but NO ONE tells me how to do it exactly. :D

Is there any HowTo for the V2 with pictures? - thank you

Maybe, but the V2 is Euro5 so the complete removal has to be different.
Is there an option to not remove the EVAP and just bypass it?

Excuse my noobish questions, but that‘s my first Ducati :)

What size for the Y-fitting do I need? Also 4mm?

- M4 to plug the hose leading to the cylinders.

Work out how to unplug yourself, upload to YouTube in a video tutorial.

Profit.

You can leave it in place. Use a Y fitting to connect the tank vent hose to the overflow hose.

The 1299, 959, and V2 differ from the 1199 in that they have a breather valve (sometimes referred to as a purge valve).

If you remove the evap canister and just plug the hose leading up to that valve (which then continues to the throttle bodies), will the ECU throw a code? In other words, just leave this valve in place, connected, and undisturbed.

I’ve circled the valve here:

Thank you.

Short answer: no.

The only time a code is thrown is if that valve is unplugged without a block-off plug installed. Smart-moto makes one for pretty cheap.

The easiest way is just to plug a Y fitting into the overflow line and connect the vent hose to it. Leave everything else in place. Nothing more needs to be done.

I am at 10500 US miles on a 2020 V2 and haven't had a problem with the canister causing stalls.

Thank you for the answer.

I have not had a problem with hard starts except twice when hot. And that’s over 5900 miles in six months, so it’s not caused me a discernible issue yet.

But I’m going to be taking off the fairings for another project soon, and it would be a good time to dump the canister.

Thank you again!

If you’re on the V2 FB group I put a post in there with pics about how to do it.
Search the group for evap.

Heres the text of it anyway….

Evap canister removal.
Take off the RHS middle and lower fairing panels. You don’t need to remove the inner one-although I did without really thinking.
Release the spring clips holding the pipes on and remove the pipes.

Stick an M6 bolt up the thicker pipe (that’s the vacuum return) and reseal the spring clip.

Cut the drain hose in two and splice the drain that went into the evap canister into it.
I used Ducati part number “ Ducati Fuel Tank Breather Hose 3-way Union 61610021A” (which is off a 1299) to join them together. You can probably get something cheaper if you’ve got a car part shop near by.

Total time about 40mins. A lot of which was getting my bike on and off the sky lift.

Ok, so just to be clear, to do this removal, I for sure need the block off plug kit by smart motor, or jet prime?
