Caught the train up to Wolverhampton Ducati this morning, 3hr 48 min journey! Epic!
Had an awesome ride back jus over 200 miles and I am beat now! Mind with only 90 mins sleep last night with daughter no2 who is 3 weeks old I knew I would suffer.
First impressions are that it is taller than I remember but cossy. I cam back in the saddle after a break of nearly a decade so a steady approach today but when I did get a little aggressive with her she comes into her own! She fills you with confidence yet there is still a little air about her that makes you stay alert.
I stopped halfway down for a drink and some food. The amount of people that come up and admire, discuss Ducati's and are just full of compliments has put an even bigger smile on my face! Porsche drivers wanted to race me today which made me chuckle and there were two accidents and heaps of traffic which I scooted through no problems at all.
Heat. There is a little heat coming through the seat but nothing I would be worried with considering the run of the exhaust and the size of the engine.
The side stand. I have now figured out how to get it down without catching my boot.
I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!
I can't wait to take it out for a spin tomorrow and the day after and the day after.
Happy from Kent :)

Congrats! Your wait will soon payoff!

That's what it's all about.

Really, nothing stirs the soul like a Ducati.

Enjoy :)

Great news Gnome! Hopefully see you on 8th!

I was at Ducati Coventry this morning. It would not have taken much to ride over to you.

See how you get on, but I thoroughly recommend a suspension set up. It has transformed my bike from one that I trust to one that I really trust!

Thats great news Gnome, and to think your relationship is only getting started.

I can tell you from experience it is going to get way better the longer you are with her/him:D

Here I find myself after a night of "Garage watching" and securing "Eva" (as in Eva Longoria another fox who I would sell my soul for to get her as pillion lol) so no midnight visitors could sweep her away from me I find myself with a beaming smile that will not go! Thank you Ducati!!!

After some more thought I have found the quick shifter so easy to operate in the parameters it was designed for. Smooth when you get it right clonky when you don't. Practice makes perfect. Having never used one before it has been a sheer delight to get to know better.
it took me an age to fugure out how to get the lights off main beam and from the riders view it was quite clear, however once you know you kick yourself for it being so bloody simple!!!
I adore the screen and could stare at it all day. If I had any complaints it would be........ can't really think of one right now! lol
The sound is amazing! I didn't use my ear plugs for the first 85 miles and not only was the wind noise more than what I am used to it wasn't unpleasent but the sound of those Termi's OH MY LIFE!!! No wonder people move out of your way in traffic. It sounds amazing!

I truly do adore my new machine and agree with what has been seaid before that it is well worth the wait! I now have 200 miles of "tootling" to complete before I head off back to Ducati Wolverhampton for the first service and fitting of the DDA kit.
Having brand new leathers and boots was a challenge yesterday too but nothing could stop my beaming smile and what an experience.

Happy days
Gnome
