Freak.. If I may.. It feels like you are looking for a reason to not like the 1299.. Face it. You like it(alot perhaps) buy it ride the .... out of it and smile the whole time you won't be disappointed..

All the bike's now a days have issue's. Might just be the electronic's and power they put out.

In 98-06 I owned 1-2 bikes a year and did atleast 15k a year. Never an issue with any of them.

That's pretty darn self explanatory.

Not really, the majority of people don't have issues with their bikes, those that do tend to go online and find out how to fix it etc.

so what issues have you had or is this all hearsay.

I ask because i have a number of bikes and really very little issues and if my bike is under warranty the dealer just sorts it with little hassle.

So whats the questionable reliability.

......... Some, but not every car. My 1200-HP street car doesn't do that, but it has an adequate cooling system. My Z06 or Shelby GT500 don't do it either, with factory cooling systems - in 110* weather!

Not to be a dick but if your new vehicles can't idle in 100+ degree heat you need to take them in for inspection. I live in Vegas and I wrench on cars. You can leave any factory vehicle (with the stock cooling system) in this heat with no issues. My 1199 has seen 225+ temps in traffic and I've had no issues aside from the inner thigh heat. Also, the test ride should not be about how the bike is mechanically reacting but how you're emotionally reacting to the bike. That being said, it looks like this bike is not meant for you (no problem there). Just don't blame the bike for not meeting your expectations.

I'm a big car freak travel to all the high end factories and test the finest cars on the planet, 1200 (controllable Hp is like a wet dream for me) even a McLaren can't get near 1200 hp, my bespoke Aston with a hand built engine hardly pushes 600 Hp
I think we need to meet up because I need to meet your tuner:D

Really dig the honest feedback of the OP. I would never have bought the Panigale for a daily. It's just too much bike for something to commute on.

My 1299 is hot, noisy, vibrates like crazy and it get uncomfortable after a few hours of riding it hard, but it's my therapeutic toy.

It really depends on a individual's specific needs for what a bike can do or what you intend to use the bike for.

Mine does exactly what I expect it to do, thrill and excite everytime I get on and ride.

This is exactly where I sit with mine, noisy and yes the hands do go a bit numb on freeway type rides so vibration is normal, good post

There's a reason Ducati is known as the "Italian Harley"

But my Harleys are reliable.....

There was a brand reliability survey done somewhere (I can't remember where) but Yamaha was at the top and BMW at the bottom. Harley was toward the bottom and Ducati one step above. Anybody else see this survey?

Sounds like we are all doomed!

Better sell it and buy something I don't like!

Hmmmm...whenever someone talks about a "1200 hp street car" it's inevitable said person is a Supra or vette owner, probably lives in Texas (straight, flat, boring roads), and is middle aged with a paunch

Probably not buying a 1299 anytime soon, back to gixxer.com

You have your view, which is perfectly fine, and I have mine. The emotional part for me comes before and after the test is over, then I get to decide if it's exactly what I want or not. If purchased, I'll have plenty of time to get emotional with the 1299 once I put ink pen to paper and my name is on the title as a new owner. I wasn't looking for faults not to buy the bike, just simply sharing my experience of the ride/mechanics in relations to what I've heard and read on this forum. Told the dealer I'll give them an answer this week.

Now, about those big ass fish with sharp teeth that swim in your local waters........

OP, let us know when you finally make up your mind one way or another.

Kind of curious how this ends...
