I swear to god, is my service rep. trying to give me an aneurysm?

Something similar also happened to me. I purchased my 2013 panigale and asked for them to switch out stock exhaust for termi slip ons. They did and when I went to pick up the bike they game me the exhaust to take home. I was so eager to get on my new panigale and ride it home that i didnt inspect the part when they gave it back to me. A couple months later I went in my basement, bored, and opened the box containing the stock exhaust. i flipped the exhaust over and what did I see?? A HUGE ....... DENT WITH A SCRATCH TO GO ALONG WITH IT. The idiot tech must have dropped it and thought OOPS NOT LIKE HE'LL BE USING IT ANYWAY, and then proceeded to stuff it in the box. I called the dealer the other day talked to the service manager and told Im about the situation and Im coming down to see him. I talked to him and the owner and they are currently coming up with a solution. Turns up they cant fix the exhaust, they would have to replace it all.

I just dont understand why some of these dealerships would jeopardize there reputation in the worst of ways instead of just replacing or fixing the part. I understand these parts are not cheap but, well, tough! Dont hire retarted techs! I invested 26K into your business... At least let it be and honest business exchange. These stealerships deserve all the negative hype that comes with this business. They do it to themselves and are truly scum!

Yeah, I think they scratch my Termi cans of but couldn't be sure so I let it slide. Again I was way too excited to inspect it properly lol.

Sorry I could not resist. Don't want to hijack your post but just to give you some insight on my stealership experience. They washed my bike for me after first service, scratched the hell out of the windscreen/ Scratched paint all over the bike (obvious they used a dirty shop towel to scrub my bike.) Horn was disconnected. Cracked my upper fairing and if anyone has taken the fairings off; those tabs that slide into place under the tank were all broken off. I noticed it cause that part of the fairing was just flapping around. I got the DP tail tidy, they didn't fasten the right blinker correctly and looked like it was about to fall off. I also had the Full Termi system put on with first service ( /facepalm), left silencer had a deep scratch along that small triangle sized aluminum panel. They also never installed the re-map that came with the Termi system. To top things off when I finally got my bike back after they corrected only "some" of these issues (was like pulling teeth with these guys) I found out they test rode my bike right after a huge winter storm and got it covered in salt and mud. I found out cause there were even more scratches and there was mud all over the radiator and salt in hard to wash spots. I guess NOT all Ducati dealers take pride in their work...cough cough... Motofit.

Oh and I could go on but that was just my first service experience. DNA has been contacted cause they have not resolved things on there own. Wish me luck.

I'd be pissed. You wouldn't fault them if they did it and let you know. However the fact they hid something is distressing. I wouldn't email them, but call them.

Emailing them gives them time to come up with an excuse, as opposed to calling them and putting them directly on the spot.

Is a 10 dollar connector really worth losing your business? Remember in retail the customer is always right, and in this case this was their fault period.:)

Yeah....and to make matters worse it's probably only a $1 connector! You get the connector, insert a special tool (that looks suspiciously like a small flat-bladed screw driver) to withdraw the pins, and insert the wires into the new connector. It's a two minute procedure and a cheap plastic connector, ferchrissakes.

I've broken several connectors, especially on older bikes (those 25 year old plastic parts tend to get brittle!) and always inform the customer and offer to replace them at our cost (I don't think it's my fault when those old ones break, or when they're already broken). I've never broken one on a newer bike, but when I do (and it's bound to happen) I'll offer to replace it at no cost as soon as I can lay hands on parts. This isn't rocket science, it's basic customer service!

I suspect your dealer will offer likewise. The mechanic probably never told his manager about the thing, but if he's worth his salt he won't even question this, he'll simply handle it. If he won't, you absolutely should kick this up the chain of command at DNA.

That's my two cents.

I assume you have spoken with your dealer by now. But before you get too worked up, talk to them directly with the bike there and see if they'll fix it. I would think they'll take care of it.

Lol. :d

send them this version.

Stooge,
i can't believe you idiots @(*@1$'d up my des connectors. It has been one thing after another with this bike and bringing it to you guys is like handing over a nuclear reactor to homer simpson. At this point, i think my only recourse is to throw you guys under the bus publicly on every ducati forum i can find in the hope that others can avoid the idiocy that takes place in that so called "shop" you are running. However, my silence does have a price. If you are willing to take this pos that you keep breaking back and give me a brand new r straight across i will consider posting nothing but glowing reviews of your establishment all over the internets.

Love, kyle aka the rock (6'9", 380 lbs, black belts in bjj, muay thai, ex-delta force, 783 wins, 0 losses, 1 draw)

I called him asked me to drop it off and he'll see what he can do. I'm not sure if he intends to accept responsibility or not, I didn't out right blame him and he didn't deny responsibility either.
