Has anyone fitted one yet?
Any improvement in heat shielding?
It's a significant investment but in theory should do a very good job.
There will be a factory update pretty soon with a new std guard with covers for the cylinder heads and also a kit for the full termi system guard
I received this exact info from my dealer ( sales manager) back in October.Source?

Here is a picture of the new heat shield for the full Termi' system.
For the release of the new shield update I am considering manufacturing a custom track rail and lock so I can slide the passenger pegs on and off without removing the exhaust system.
I have not seen the one for the full termi yet but i expect it to be uglier than that one in your photo and probably bigger than the original termi one.
i have seen the one for the standard exhaust and that is larger than the original fitment

Cali,
Who made the Carbon shield in your pic? It looks too scaled back to offer any protection.
I dont think it's that bad, it looks like they molded it from the OEM heat shield. The Ilmberger shield is pretty ugly... See below:
Ilmberger Ducati 1199 Ceramic Seat Heat Protection
Well, I received the Ilmberger heat shield a couple of weeks back (live in Germany). After installing it a couple of days ago, I took the bike out for a test ride at 12C. What can I say...Awesome!
After doing some extensive highway-and city riding, I parked the bike and was almost instantaneously able to place my hand on the heat shield..practically hand warm. For me definitely the best alternative for the heat issue..definetly worth it!!!
That my friend, wasn't the idea of the Germans
The heatshield is actually from a US company (at least that's what the plaque states: MS Composites...googled it and its an American company).
They probably baked the ceramic part whereas Ilmberger (german) applied the carbon.
