I’ve used a breaker bar in the past.
I use a Dewalt cordless impact rated for 450ft/lbs to zip the axle nut off my V4 Panigale (same axle setup as the 1299). I recommend putting some tape or something around the inside of the socket you use to avoid marring the nut, if that's something you care about.
a breaker bar with a cheater pipe works fine if it was tightened and lubed properly. kinda not a fan of using impacts on anything with sensors.
my concern is for the sensors on the motor. things like knock sensors are done if you drop them on the floor. hall and temp sensors are ok. (yes, i am overly anal about things.)
if you have race type pads, they may not have enough bite if they are cold. i would try it with the brakes heated up a little then go the impact route if that doesn't work.
it was the first time my rear tire was removed and installed so it came off like butter. the blinker was kinda in the way of the torque wrench on the install but that was the only issue.
You can remove all that brake line mess, hoses and other stuff in the way much easier to maintain the bike and easier to work on as well.
very tidy MickYou can remove all that brake line mess, hoses and other stuff in the way much easier to maintain the bike and easier to work on as well.
I’m trying to remove the axle nut and need an impact. Does anyone know if 600ft pounds of break away torque is enough or do I need to go higher.
If you have taken yours off please let me know what impact you used and it’s rating.
Running rear wheel speed under the clutch cover like that negatively effected traction control on my bikeYou can remove all that brake line mess, hoses and other stuff in the way much easier to maintain the bike and easier to work on as well.
