I just picked this 848 up last week. The bike seems to have had a preltty gentle life. Being that its 12 yrs old and looks barely used after 23,000 miles. The tires are date coded 2017 and they still have about 1.5" - 2" that has not been touched on the side of the rear. Even the nubby's are still there. I was able to speak to the mechanic that took care of it and I told him the price and he said if I don't grab it he will go get it for himself. That instantly told me to snag it.
I have wanted a Ducati for a long time but as you know. Funds or other external life factors can prevent that. I sold one bike and woke up and said to myself I want a Ducati. I searched and was getting discouraged because there are a lot of clapped out older ones. I bought this one sight unseen and had a buddy in SoCal go put eyes on it and pick it up for me. The seller was extremely transparent and told me about the minor scratches / chips, service required, and a loose kickstand issue.
It need the 21.5K mile service and it is already scheduled for that. Once she is ready I will get out and hit the roads in the SF Bay area.
I will ask a lot of FNG questions if I cant find them in the search box.
