Why not another?

Fifth Gear is as scripted as a soap opera, although not as bad as Top Gear. However, this video does show clearly where 2 wheels and 4 wheels have their respective advantages/disadvantages, and at least the driver/rider are of relative equal, and high, skill level.

I thought Top Gear UK was given the award for the "Best Unscripted Show"

BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Global Emmy for car show Top Gear

Well, that sure is a laugh. Their train vs. bicycle vs. boat and other nonsensical races (snowboarders vs. rally car, etc.) across Europe are as rigged and scripted for "drama" as anything could be. I record the show just to fast forward through those stupid antics to the exotic car tests and Stig laps. A lot of their humor is "lost in translation" for me, and Jeremy Clarkson is an anti-motorcycle, anti-US snob and windbag of the highest order.

I love these bikes vs car compare. for the past two years I noticed that car's have better laptimes:mad:

It all depends on the track. The car's advantages are in braking, transitions and corner entry. If it is a bumpy track with a lot of slow corners, a car will typically have an advantage. More flowing tracks where a bike can use it's vastly superior power-to-weight ratio and acceleration to reach a higher top speed on the straight sections, it will win handily. Also, a bike is much narrower than a car and can straighten track sections out better, traveling less distance per lap as well.

I've actually noticed more bike wins in lap times in these contests than similar ones done 20 years ago, mainly because bike tires have gotten so much better that max corner speeds are very close to cars now.
