of course color makes a difference, esp for helmets.
put another way: 2 exact (same paint gloss level) cars with one being black and one white will always, in same heat, have the same temp outcome: white car is cooler.

my .02 again. I have the rs Tai chi gmx motion jacket in white ( gunny's advice and confirmed by duc1199 not that i doubted gunny) lets the most air through of any leather jacket i have ever tried. It is actually cooler than my alpinestars stunt textile jacket and it fits better then the European cut stuff for me. RS also has a back protector.
I forgot where i saw it but they compared a black helmet and white helmet and the black helmet absorbed more heat and was hotter than the white one. I have to believe color makes a difference.
