Just picked up my base panigale today - stalled three times

Had a nice ride through the Malibu canyons, Freeway, and some stop and go street riding this morning.

No problems at all today.

Maybe the computer is still learning?

Did not know that, where are you supposed to fill it up to?

What happens is the over spill hole drains into the canister to get reburned. The old days there was a tube that just hung to the bottom of the bike that flowed to the ground.

I had three stalls before the first service and have not had one since. I still have the canister installed on my bike. I stop filling right before the neck.

Funny enough, this morning about 20 seconds after I fired my bike up it stalled while sitting in N. Started it again and, after idling for 5-10 seconds, it stalled a second time. Cursed by this thread, perhaps?

Not good to overfill the tank on a bike equipped with an emissions canister. Historically the canister gets filled with gas and leads to potential crappy running. My friend just got his 848 back and when they took his canister off it was full of gas.

Ducati recommends filling it to just below the bottom of the filler neck. Doesn't matter on a bike without the canister, it just goes out the overflow tube all over your feet. :)

I fill mine just below the the filler neck.

Had this on my 1098s.
Turned out to be a broken jiffy censor.
Might also be your problem ?

Sorry...

Did you fill the tank to the rim, if so the bike will stall sometime.

When it stalled at the stop light right after I left the dealership, that may have been the case(assuming the dealer over-filled the tank). However, it stalled twice while coming to a stop after I got home about 50 miles later.

At any rate, it seems the problem has gone away, at least for today.

This is my concern. Honestly if it is or isn't the canister it shouldn't matter, one should not have to remove ANYTHING to fix a stalling problem on a 30 grand bike. Ducati should fix the problem and issue a recall.

+1.
I always fill my tank to the top being careful not to overflow it. As I said before, I still have my canister intact. I never believed the canister reasoning. If Aussie bike don't have it and still stall, it is probably not the canister. Thinking about it, my dealer did tell me that they reset the TPS when I took it in for stalling issues before the 1st service.
Glad your ride went well. I too just got back from a 100 mile blast. All :)
