Cold Start-Up - bike seems to be trying to go into gear itself....?

They are supposed to turn off with engine warm and at zero speed. Pulling the clutch in reactivates the cylinders.

It helps to keep the engine heat down. This is supposed to happen.

I think what you are hearing is your V4 turning into a V2

No - pretty sure it's not this. Seems to be happening before the engine is up to the temperature where the rear cylinders deactivate. I'll check later today, but I'm pretty sure pulling the clutch in doesn't reactivate the rear two - think it's only when a first gear is selected. I could be wrong though...

Three times over the past couple of weeks, I've started it from cold and while I'm putting my gloves on and letting the bike warm up in neutral, it starts to jerk and make a short 'clunk' noise, almost like it's trying to slip into gear even though I'm nowhere near the shifter. If I pull the clutch in, the clunk goes away but comes back once I've let the clutch out. I've never had it happen when the bike is warm - if I stop for gas, it doesn't do the clunk thing when I start up again.

Anyone come across something similar?
