I just realized something that bothered me about the V4, the kickstand is awful to try to kick down with track boots. I own dainese axial pros and I cannot bring the kickstand down due to the heel being metal and the side of my foot being smooth plastic.

For those of you who want to design and sell things to the community, I need a kickstand that's easier to catch with my track boots. I'll probably use grip tape for now or something.

I have never had a Ducati Sport bike that was easy to put the kick stand down lol. I have not owned any of the Panigales so not sure if anyone has a fix.

In order to dismount the bike, I have to hold on the brake and swing my right left over while slighting leaning the bike over to the left.

Not sure if it will fit the V4, but you could get something similar to this:

Also, from looking at the manual, the bolt on the kickstand is adjustable. You could try backing it out (making it longer) to see if that helps.

Do we really have a full blown thread on the inability to use a side stand ??

The panigales have aways known to be more difficult to swing open. Now I could wear my street boots and knock it down easily, but any track boots with metal and hard smooth plastics, it becomes an annoyance.

You are certainly right...& it's surely an annoyance I noticed too...I just kinda found my way around it, the same way another poster here stated...you kinda "go for it" with the forward portion/tip of your boot...it works

I can see that the part used to bolt on the stand would solve the issue 100%, I simply couldn't do it...it falls in to the same category as Cruise Control, or a Throttle Rest.....please don't mention GPS mounts !!

The toe technique! Talked about it here before. Use the toe of your boot and approach the kickstand from the back end of the bike from almost under the foot peg.

Practice in the garage a few times to save yourself looking like a .... in public :D

+1. Had heard the KS was a bitch, so when I demo'ed an S I looked for a workaround. No way the heel was going to work in SuperTech R's, but using the toe worked fine. Didn't mind looking like a .... in the parking lot; all in the interest of science! ;)

...funny, even if its true (happens to all of us) ;)

If you compare the pre-production images of the kickstand and the bikes being delivered a threaded stud was added (not even shown on the microfiche) and allows you to push the side stand out with your foot (most likely heal of your boot). Unfortunately the stud is about an inch too short and still hidden under the fairings when your sitting on the bike. I'm going to run a small batch of these for MotoWheels that are an inch longer and make it easier to feel in order to open the kick stand.

pick up the bike this morning and confirm that the side stand is a bitch, hard to get it up as it was in the much forward position compare with other bike and with A Star super tech boots round heel, no way to get it down! even tried to use toe came from behind but couldn't get it down! end up they open up the "hook screw" and did a tiny modification, add a nuts and make it 5mm longer and problem solved!

KICKSTAND!!! My bike is race only, NO kickstand to deal with..LOL...I do agree that in stock form finding the kickstand is a PITA!!!
