For me the problem is not so much the look but how much they vibrate.
Once I get going at any kind of speed I can't see crap behind me.
I like to be able to see if there is an officer behind me.
I had an 848 and replaced the stock mirrors with the DP mirrors.
Visibility was a little better but they were much more solid and didn't vibrate near as much and I really liked them.
I thought the DP mirrors looked better too.
So I'm waiting for something that is going to give me a more clear view of my 6.

I drilled out the stock panigale alu rivet and dropped in the Duc 999 mirror into the Panigale mirror mount.
Also, The mod is reversible :
FYI, the stock mirror base rivet tensions a stack of spring washers. I drilled out the shoulder of the Alu rivet on the bottom.
I figured out that the rivet can be replaced with 8mm or 5/16 inch hollow threaded rod and 2 nuts from mcmaster-carr. The rod is hollow to pass the wire.

Btw, the stock Panigale mirrors chew up the base position notches every time you fold the mirrors.
The metal which attaches the mirrors the base flange is minimal. I would not fold them too much....the soft alu metal will just get chewed up. Some injected grease maybe would help here....

The Ducati 999 mirror doesn't vibrate Like the Stock Panigale mirror because the mass of the solid mirror head + the ball and socket to the arm versus the captive mirror in the shell design of the stock mirrors. The Duc 999 LED mirror is shorter.....by ~1.5 inches.

There is a mock up on page one. It will be very similar, except now it is with the stock
Panigale mount. It's going to be a conversion until the stock mount gets reproduced.
The conversion will be reversible.

An alternative to stock mirrors on the fairing, slightly shorter, with less vibration over the stock Panigale mirrors.

I crashed my Panigale S today... also need new right mirror, front brake lever, fairing by seat and exhaust, new exhaust pipe ... and a new ego..

Will take it in on Thursday so get the full assessment. I just hope my fork is not bent. I went nose first into a ditch..

1199 Fairings are already being knocked off in China....if your money is tight.
The quality is ok , not spectacular....does the job for 20%-25% of the cost.
NZ is high duty too...
